Marcello Gandini is truly a creative genius. I was totally blown away the first time I saw an LP400. Thanks Marcello, for creating a masterpiece.

He's designed three cars that i know of lancia stratos, miura and the countach and all three are most known for their distinctive designs. How brilliant is that for a car designer.

I made a quip about the computers at work: "Our computers use Space Age technology! And by that I mean 1957!"

Gandini has a very poetic turn of phrase. The Italian language (thank for subs, not dubs) helps! I think the key design aspect of the Countach is the tiny roof. It almost turns the side windows into roof panels, and the windshield is angled at less than 30°. It accentuates the low stature of the car and makes the overall wedge shape possible. The original Countach without the expanded wheel arches is my favourite. Pure and simple shape. The QV still looks great (and the added body elements are mostly nessecary for aero), but the 80's Anniversary version is cluttered and just ruins the aesthetic. The Countach is possibly the most iconic car of all time. No wonder it dominates the design language of Lamborghini to this day.
