I used to work at I&I SPORTS, the Machado brothers used to come in all the time to pick up gis. one time i was ringing up Rigan and i happened to look down and he was on the cover of the magazine on our counter, i said "Hey thats you!" and he just laughed. they were always really cool humble guys

I know nothing about Jiu-Jitsu and never did any martial art. I just know MMA free fighters, Gracie's.. And well "fate" = the Force as I call it, led me in here. I'm not a fighter, but I do understand this philosophical "martial" art.. Cause I do Master "Art" myself. THanks so much for your history video, much (I) had to learn about you. "Things are simple. Only Humans want to make it complicated" => We are what we want to believe we are.. => If you believe your body is limited, than it will be. If you have consciousness there is no limit, then you'll become limitless..."

Gene Le Bell trained with the Machado brothers for many years and taught them leglocks.

The Machado´s knew leglocks before because the Gracie´s are their cousins. They didn´t need Gene LeBell who by the way is a storyteller and liar.

@@Katzenhase The Gracies who are children of Carlos Gracie and Layr Machado - are the cousins of the Machado brothers. The other Gracies are distant in-laws to the Machado brothers.

@@martinclarke2903 Carlos has nothing to do with the academy in LA,that's rorions creation starting in 1989 and where the machados started in America.Bjj popularity is entirely due to rorion and his UFC.

They taught in the garages but not in the actual academy on Carson st.

@@sliderx1897 And actually Carley Gracie preceded Rorion, as he started in USA in 1972, whereas Rorion started in 1976, if I am not mistaken. Rorion tried to sue Carley over legal use of the term, "Gracie Jiu-Jitsu". So Carley just challenged him to a fight.
