So crazy to see that this once so mighty order still exists to this day

Impressive how they managed to survive for such a long time. I honestly thought they were dissolved when Poland conquered Prussia and Livonia.

The areas in Estonia and Latvia were not first controlled by the Teutonic Order, but a completely separate, Order of the Sword Brothers, who joined the Teutonic Order in 1237.

The order still exists and is alive today. People often think that the TO was just East Prussia, but that part left after converting to protestantism. The rest, as shown in the video, still exists today with around 100 Churches and Monastiers in Belgium, Germany, Austria, Italy, Switzerland and the Czech Republic. There is even a protestant chapter (in the Netherlands).

It's a bit funny that to this day the grand master of the Teutonic Order wears the same type of cape

Form 1938 till 1945 the TO was banned/persecuted in the Nazi Reich. So there can be no TO places in your map at that time. The Order only existed in Belgium and South Tyrol at that time. The Headquarters could not have been in Vienna (although I do not know where they went to, maybe Rome).

Nice video, but the Sword Brothers joined the Teutonic Order only in 1237.

From 1211, the TO conquered lands in Hungary for King Andreas II. That is not shown.

So the teutonic order is slightly behind denmark for the oldest flag still in use?

What were they up to from the 1600's and on if they did not control any territory? Was it just cerimonial?
