Thanks Michael, this subject is so controversial and I have even seen friendships lost over it. I am talking to a friend now that has taken this way too far and is turning into a different person over it. Pray for me as I continue to talk to him. Miss ya at SBC!

I'm not a "Calvinist" but predestination is in scripture, as well as metaphors of vessels made for honor and others for dishonor. But we also must have choice.

@@VndNvwYvvSvv Agreed, what has helped me, is to ask, who or what is being predestined and for what are they being predestined? I haven’t found one place where scripture says He predestined people to be saved.

Did you really say that Jacob Arminius was teaching heresy? Maybe you meant the magisterial reformers thought he was teaching heresy. Agree with Arminius or not his points were not heresy.

1 Corinthians 15:1-4 “Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you-unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures”,

I enjoyed the video. Yes you are a little shaky on the doctrine of limited atonement. Thank you for sharing…

I think limited atonement is misunderstood. The way I've been taught is that it simply means the atonement is only *applied* to those who believe.

I could be mistaken, but wouldn’t that be John MacArthur’s conclusion for the doctrine? “Christ’s death is sufficient for all, but effective for some.” I’m pretty sure the original meaning is Christ died only for the elect, securing salvation for all who would believe.

One of the challenges of all these topics is there is not one universally agreed upon definition. Mind you, many will say what THE correct definition is. From The Westminster Dictionary of Theological Terms: "limited atonement A concept, found in Calvinist theology, maintaining that Christ died only for the elect, who are the only recipients of salvation. Also called “particular redemption.” It was one of the five canons of the Calvinistic Synod of Dort and part of TULIP. McKim, Donald K. 2014. The Westminster Dictionary of Theological Terms. Second Edition, Revised and Expanded. Louisville, KY: Westminster John Knox Press. And another "Sometimes called “particular redemption,” the view that Jesus’ death secured salvation for only a limited number of persons (the elect), in contrast to the idea that the work of the cross is intended for all humankind (as in “unlimited atonement”). This view resulted from the post-Reformation development of the doctrine of election in Calvinist circles. Proponents claim that because not everyone is saved, God could not have intended that Christ die for everyone." Grenz, Stanley, David Guretzki, and Cherith Fee Nordling. 1999. Pocket Dictionary of Theological Terms. Downers Grove, IL: InterVarsity Press.

That's how nearly all if not all Calvinists believe it. Calvinists however believe Jesus only died for the elect and therefore His atonement is limited to only the elect that He died for. Thankfully Jesus died for all making the atonement effective for all who believe the Gospel and who become born again believers of Jesus Christ. Calvinists believe only the elect will believe and therefore the atonement will only be applied to them, which therefore makes it limited only to the elect. Of course the atonement also takes care of those who don't know any better, like babies for example even though they can't understand or believe the Gospel.

Might I suggest that all that have listened to this video...read Hebrews chapters 10,11,12,13 carefully, realizing that there is a continuous theme throughout....all of the book of Hebrews actually...but 10-13 being a rather strong counter balance to this man's teaching in this video.

So... I've read Hebrews many times. Not sure what you believe is the "continuous theme throughout...all the book of Hebrews?" Warning passages? Supremacy of Christ above all? Not intermediary between God and man except Jesus? No more required sacrifices? In fact, I agree with the author of Hebrews. And, I'm keenly aware of James 3:1. And FYI you don't have to watch/listen to these videos. 😇

@@michaelbanda9993 well there is a theme about God choosing but the way the story goes is in the old testament the Jews marked it all up and thought God only chose them so in the New Testament Christ came and corrected that and Paul and the apostles picked up on the teaching of how the great mystery was solved, because the choosing is that God chose the Jews and gentiles. He chose everybody. Nobody is not chosen that’s the teaching around the theme of CHOSEN NESS in the whole Bible.

Here is everyone listening ? the proper understanding is God before you were born decided , predestined who he would call to be a Christian in their 1st life , not who would be saved who wouldn't , that is what it means . Also , once your called you can decide if you want to take your calling , you do not have to . See Luke 14 : 28 [Niv] bible .

Judging by this video it seems safe to say that Easley is a calvinist, albeit a 4pointer. Why don’t you bring on Leighton Flowers to share a non calvinist view. You have left your listers with a very lopsided understanding of soteriology.

Why? He hates Reformed Theology and does not understand it in context. Scripture is clear....Why listen to someone crying that God is unfair? The Judge of all the earth does what is right. 👑✝️ Reformed Theology is found within the Scriptures....📖🌷

That’s because arminianism is unbelief in the Bibles teachings and therefore is heresy . Just look at the ungodly chaos in all of the arminian “ churches “ and their spin off cults and realise this is the consequence of mans rebellion against the Lords holy word .
