The History of Two Best Friends Play Resident Evil

First off, the Shitstorm 6 video will be published around 6pm EST on February 14th. I'll talk about what comes next then. Now, about this video...please read the description for a full breakdown of the path it took to get here. I'll apologize for this video likely giving you emotions. When I first started bringing this video together, the RE2 remake trailer hadn't even been released. It was delayed when they did their RE5 lp, and after they split up I didn't even know how to proceed. Their RE5 lp coupled with them splitting up means I have a number of ways to conclude this video. There are at least 4 ways I can conclude the video. However... I decided the most appropriate thing to do is publish the video as it was intended to be before they did their RE5 lp. At that point, this video was intended to be kind of a large promotion for the eventual RE2 Remake LP. Even though now that isn't going to occur, it seemed best to just show you the video as it was originally intended to be. I do plan to keep this video as an open and active project, because I do want to see if I can get RE5 in there, as well as perhaps the one-off videos. There likely will be a version 2.0 at some point in the future to include those things. Of course, you can't predict the future. So maybe there is more history to be made, in some way or another.

JustLetMeComment I started messing around with it shortly after the lp finished. It’s gone through 2 major restructures since then, which is a huge reason why it’s taken so long. If it were a simple edit, a this point I wouldn’t bother since there are already 2 (I think 2). But it’s definitely different than anything else I’ve done, which is why I’m still going. It’s pretty funny that it was a struggle for them as much as it has been for me. Omikron really is something else. I’ve actually been kinda interested in playing it. I’ve been stuck with this lp for so long now, the curiosity is almost too strong to resist.

Oh man, I remember back in early 2012 looking for a RE2 speed run and KZbin and their infinite wisdom recommended the RE2 playthrough from the Two Best Friends and I've been watching them ever since all the way until they recently split. I feel their best videos were always survivor horror/horror games especially anything Resident Evil/Silent Hill related. I know it probably will never happen but I hope one day Matt and Pat will team up and put out a RE2 remake playthrough on the Super Best Friends channel with the old audio setup.

I never was the kind of person that made comments on their videos, but I was there on my early teen years watching them. Considering the last videos and the way they sound on the Resident Evil 2 playtrough I guess it's true they really started to separate and it wasn't as natural anymore. I mean, the channel was unique and they had this not fake at all chemistry. Makes you wonder what went wrong in some moment to the point of not being friends anymore, like many say, no problem if they don't make content anymore but one part makes you wish they were friends at least after all these years. The one thing I wanted for the last couple years, actually legitimately, of the channels life span was for Code Veronica to be LP'd. The continous mentioning of actual intent to do it, the continous back-forth on it versus other games for good and bad reasons, the actual shitstorm video being one of the funnier videos they put out. And just it never happened. I actually made real comments saying the channel die before they LP'd it, because I truly felt it kept getting pushed in the distance. After Evil Within 2, I really, really thought we were gonna get that next, to no avail. Nothing more disheartening then to actually have a "just do this 1 thing and then feel free to go" and then never getting it. *Ever.*
