The History of Welt Yang (Honkai: Star Rail Lore)

Welt Yang is a member of the Astral Express Crew, but his story goes far beyond that. In fact, unlike other characters in the game, he comes from the world of Honkai Impact 3rd. In this video, I go over his history before he came to Star Rail's world and how he got there.

I'm pretty sure it was because of the existence of Honkai Impact's Alien space manga, with some panels pointing out that he found out about another Himeko, who was alive, unlike Hi3's Himeko, who died to honkai radiation trying to neutralize Kiana. Although that was also caused by the fact that the Sky people targeted her and affected her physical condition. According to some people on the internet, hsr's Himeko is also targeted by the sky people. So this time, Welt made sure that she isn't also going to be attacked by the sky people. This was the main reason why he was in the astral express in the first place.

Small correction. Bronya inherited the core from Yang but was never made the Soverign of AE. Welt is and has always been in charge of AE all the way after Joyce. There is nothing to support that being the leader of AE entails inherting the core of reason.

​@@SiliconOneFour No worries. If you think about it logically as well it is highly doubtful members of AE would make or let an inexperienced kid like Bronya take on duties of an entire organization. You have to take into account one of the reasons Yang became the leader of AE in the 1st place was not only because he directly inherited Joyce's core but also shared his ideals and also the fact that Joyce didn't survive. If Joyce was still alive it is highly likely that he would be in charge of AE at its founding and still would be up to this point.

Well, I did just do the sea of quanta stuff, and at the end, when Bronya wakes up after Seele saves them, Welt does intend for her to actually become the soverign of AE (or at least the leader or whatever) Bronya doesn't accept right away and just says she'll consider it. As for being the HoReason Idk. I haven't got far enough to confirm anything.

Another correction in your correction: Welt Yang was the only Soveriegn of Anti Entropy ever. Joyce had died before Schicksal NA officially defected and formed AE, Joachim was disguising himself as Welt Joyce to not let slip to Otto that he was dead and they were vulnerable. It was only in Second Eruption when Welt Yang appeared as himself, throwing even Otto for a loop.

From what I recall from HI3rd's A Post Honkai Odessey 2(APHO), Teresa Apocalypse (Otto's granddaughter) is managing both Shicksal and Anti Entrophy on Welt's behalf since Welt established Studio Reason (Anime and gaming company I think) and was focused more on the studio right before the events of Alien space manga.

Another mention, this is how Welt boarded onto the Astral Express, once his spaceship ran out of fuel and he was with his unknown companion and crash landed on a barren desert planet named Salsotto (in HSR universe) which the Astral Express came tasked by Herta, to order to obtain Cadence Glass which can be found on Salsotto, and then Himeko and Pom-Pom found Welt on the planet. Edit: I had a minor mistake, actually welt did not crash land on the planet but was in fact somewhere near the planet

Star of eden was broken. All star of edens that Joachim and bronya use is a replica formed using herrscher of reason power. In fact, the true herrscher of reason has the capacity to create a divine key that is not inferior to the real one.

There is a hole in story in between year 2018 and year 2032 where Star Rail plot begins. Part 2 of Hi3 is 2018-2028 and its about Mars and in 2028 Sky People invade and Post Honkai Oddysey begins, we havent seen it yet to finish, waiting for part 3 which should come in next 2 years, probably 2025

10:33 if I'm not mistaken the Star of Eden was 'loaned' to Bronya by Einstein during the Battle of Schicksal in chapter 9. What Bronya recovered from the Sea of Quanta by passing Joachim's trials was the Core of Reason itself. Making her the third Herrscher of Reason.

It do be like this sometimes when Welt has to be playable in another game and not his original game, since the CN fanbase of Honkai Impact 3rd has legit formed plans to harm the devs of that game over just single instant levels when we get to play as a male character or the fact the CN fanbase got a whole anniversary event for the NA server cancelled since it was advertised with a MMD of the girls in bunnysuits. . . . and then get like 3,000 crystals given to them as apologies for hoyoverse for ever thinking about doing an NA anniversary event while the actual NA players got... literally nothing. That aside, nice to see someone whose covering these games actually cover some of Welt's importance in the game HI3rd itself considering most people just... skip that entirely and only do the manga, he's not too prominently featured in it beyond the Herrscher of Domination Story Arc and A Post Honkai Odyssey 2 but its nice to see the a Honkai character's history actually covered in-depth (even if its mostly spurred on by Star Rail), honestly only other hoyo channel I recall doing that is Homu Labs.

Two corrections. 1. Bronya does not receive the Star of Eden from Welt. Einstein lent it to her for the battle against HoV. When she uses it later on, Bronya, like the previous Herrschers of Reason, uses the Authority of Reason to recreate a copy of the 9th key, rather than using the original. 2. Void Archives didn't actually need the powers of the Herrscher of Reason, but rather the powers of the Herrscher of Earth/Stars. He needed the 9th Herrscher's gravity power. The trick is that, due to using the 9th key for so long, Welt is able to summon a copy of it using the residual powers left over from his time as the Herrscher of Reason, which allows him. Joey also can, due to being a clone of Welt Joyce, who quite literally encoded the formula of the 9th key into his dna(hence why his clones, while unable to use the Authority of Reason, do have a limited ability to wield the Authority of Gravity.) If it was the 1st herrscher powers he needed, Void Archives would have no problem, as he is the Divine key of Reason. But since he lacked data on the 9th key, he needed someone who could use it.

Honestly, you can play HI3 but most of what Welt did was in the mangas so if he's the reason you'll play, it's kind of not needed? - they honestly wrecked themselves when they said that there would never be a retainable playable male valkyrie in HI3. Once you get into about Chapter 7 of Honkai Impact 3rd the story is fully set up and starts to flow. And please do not kid yourself and say you won't feel emotions or shed tears because I full on call it Honcry Impact. They steal your tears from you and break you completely - especially where something has to do with a bonds or relationships (found family, romantic bonds, friendship bonds, etc.) HoYo has no issue taking the bonds most precious to you as a valkyrie and shattering them into in a million tiny pieces and watching you weep. When you do play, I look forward to hearing what you think of my favourite character Elysia 🥺

I don't think he still has the core, but something that I did miss in this video is that his Cane in Star Rail is made from the Star of Eden. So he still has some of his powers, but not all of them and they're not as powerful as they once were.

@@abyssy182 Lightcones are made from memories in HSR (might be wrong, do correct me if I am) so it's probably just his memories from when he inherited the core (and name) I think in either APHO or APHO2 I believe it's mentioned somewhere that Bronya had returned the core to him (since she became the Herrscher of Truth I think)

It permanently altered the nature of the core, and Welt Yang could barely endure the Reason core. The Truth core would kill him. That, and due to the fusion of the minds, giving it away would be..... difficult.

I never really understood the lore behind the Post-Houkai Odyssey in HI3. What about Welt in that? I played a fair amount of HI3 but at some point the lore just got lost on me.

What’s up with Welt’s obsession with animation in HSR? Is it a cover, or what’s the deal?

After the events of Main story of Honkai impact 3rd. Welt open up an animation studio where he work animated projects to fund in their company since you know Honkai now been repressed and the earth starting to heal but that doesn't mean the threat of honkai or other hostile species doesn't disappear.

@@rubiepie more correctly before otto reaveal to all world what the Honkai it is, most of the fund for AE came from their animator studio who create a famous anime named Arahato (who """"casually" remeber Neon Genesis Evangelion). After The end with bronya Welt founded Reason Studio; who develope game and continue the Arahato anime series

I need an HI3 summary video. The story is long and sounds very confusing. I'm also somewhat visually impaired, so not having English voice artists makes the story harder to read and thus understand. If there are any videos I can watch, even from other channels, I will watch them. I know a lot about HSR and Genshin especially, just not HI3. Any recommendations?
