I did a cross country trip from Washington to Wisconsin when I was 15. Yellowstone was a stop on the way (kinda, went out of the way to get there) I wish we would of had more time to spend there. I will be back someday.. its literally the most beautiful, dangerous and interesting place on earth

It is an active volcano, so you could say it's a ticking time bomb. Any second is unlikely though. Don't let all that sensational horseshit the Discovery and History channels air about Yellowstone prevent you from visiting the park. It is incredibly beautiful and there's really nothing like it anywhere else on the planet.

thank you Mr. T. Roosevelt. my original and enduring plan A was to be a park ranger. sad the internet wasn't around when i went back to my plan A and tried to get it going. nothing but a bunch of telephone hang-ups. even sadder, i didn't think to go to the reliable, old fashoned local library for more information. what is is to be taken out of a successful environment/situation by my own parents. still, thank you Mr. T. I went when I was a kid with my parents, so I saved up and surprised my sons and their families with a trip in June 2016, kinda disappointed...Old Faithful was on time but only a third of what it use to be, even my family couldn't understand what all the hype was about cause it really didn't perform very well, but it was still fun...all we seen was buffalo and a few elk, no bears or any other critters.
