Fun fact: Slushy doesn't trigger Poseidra's effect. It only triggers via its own summoning effect. So Slushy actually just summoned back a vanilla like Blue-Eyes. Actually, it summoned back a worse Blue-Eyes.

Gonna mention for game 4: Poseidra's bounce effect only triggers when he's summoned by HIS OWN EFFECT. So all slushy does is bring back a 2800 vanilla. You'd be better off running a Daedalus/Umi Package in a Slushy deck so you could at least get some board wipes out of it.

The Jank Judge has ruled that Poseidra's effect only works when it is summoned by its OWN summoning effect. Even then you can see the jank unfold like some kinda ghost ship dumpster fire.

As much nostalgia as I have for Poseidra, the card sure doesn't do a whole lot other than being a one-tribute 3000 vanilla under Legendary Ocean in its original structure deck which to be fair was pretty neat for me and my brother's incredibly casual standards when my deck was just the "best" cards from two of the structure deck and we just played each other and even then it still got outclassed by the very funny if very bad Legendary Ocean/Atlantean Dragoons sometimes-almost-OTK that the deck could also do occasionally

@bastardrian Poseidra was meant to trigger the minor atlanteans effects by tributing them to summon itself, basically it wasn't meant to be splashed with any other archetype or engine that wasn't its own and the Sea Serpent support that was released around that time and in its Structure Deck. Technically the Mermail cards released after the SD where also meant to ease its summoning conditions as a sort of engine but as history showed us Atlantean became the engine thanks to the minor ones whilst Mermail became the main archetype.

I feel like this deck is meant to be Poseidra turbo, since you can easily flood the board with small idiots so the sea dragon can just keep coming back due to it's summoning condition, and Slushy is just there to be able to bring back Poseidra after you've burned through all your frogs with Ronin. Still a terrible deck, but I can sorta see how it managed to get a top, even if a regional one.

I have a deck idea for your jank list... I never took it anywhere but it has beaten people on master duel... and its very troll to win with. Amazoness Swordswoman is the win condition and no more than 5 other main deck monsters allowed generally. It is geared 100% to reoccur her and keep her afield with minimum atk and that's it... its that simple to win. There are an amazing number of ways to get her from deck almost every turn 1. Pianosmo (quick play drops atk of target to 100 but they can't be destroyed by battle or effect) combined with a few others can keep her near zero atk every time an opponent declares against her or you declare with her. Since you give no craps about opponents monsters you rarely care about their protection. you let them bring out their 5300 beat stick and have twin swords and Pianosmo double tap for reverse battle victory. Its so underwhelming on paper but my win rate with it is decent given how narrow its chances are. As you perfect the 40 cards around the 3 swordswoman it can get quite scary how effective it can be. living and dying by the first 6 cards because going second is more reliable. Especially since most people I play wait for a non existent pay off letting victory occur before they realize what they should of stopped.

It looks between the time before his draw and after when he has ghost ship and kaus he lost a material on pleadies and its effect isnt limited to monsters so its likely he used its effect to bounce tenki and then used tenki after his draw to get kaus

The structure was able to bring poseidra out pretty easily and get atlantean effects because of the cost....not actually bad at all....call of the atlateans during opponents end phase and summon poseidra on your turn
