You can weld a nut or a tab of half inch steel to that pin. If you do the tab, you can get an adjustable wrench or something on it and be able to turn it

Hey Chris you need to change the swing gear oil to. To get the water out of .there is always a little water in them and it cause the lower pinion on the swing gear to go out and leak all the oil out and it will cost a lot of money to fix it. Love your vids. I am a Volvo mechanic for 45 years.

Is it normal to have a little water in the swing gear over the years?
@danslawncare8594
@danslawncare8594 5 жыл бұрын
@@WalmartBiker you will always have a little water in the big swing gear but you don't want any water in the swing gear that is under the the swing motor. The water get in the swing gear because of condensation and it will rust the lower pinon bearing and cause the seal to go out and will loose all the oil. No good.

Those battery powered impact drivers sure have made life easier for mechanical work. Don't have to lug around a heavy air compressor or need to be close to a power source if you didn't have a portable compressor. Plus the drivers themselves weigh a ton less.

The key to working those pins is making sure there is no load on the pin. If you have the arm down resting on the bucket on the ground, the force going through the pin is upward. If you get a helper to raise the arm from inside while you watch the joint, you will see the play in the pin go the other way at which point the force going through the pin is downward. If you get your helper to very finely set the bucket so it's just barely touching the ground while you watch the pin, you will reach a point where the joint appears to be floating, at which point the force going through the pin is zero. At this point you should be able to twist the pin with your hand.

How cool are the nights? Here in Eastern and Southern Ontario, Canaderp, we've been enjoying the coolest spring and summer I can remember in my 51 years. It's just in the last 2-3 days that traditional summer heat has kicked in, but still we've had a few beautiful nights, down to 70F last few nights, and some downright chilly nights through June, one night was down to 7C or 44F. I don't know what Anchorage gets for summer weather. Best wishes, and belated happy 4th of July (oh wait, it's still the 4th where you are, for a few more hours) !

Really nice machine. its a good size too. and with the old trusted 6 cilinder. I can't help notice she's idling high. Same with full trottle, running high. if you dig hard ground you should hear her rev up a tad more like a sort of powerboost. and when trough it she should lower. atleast thats wat i experienced from running the ex215.Ran 2 of them. 1 was maintained perfect and ran nicely( warmed op and cooled down when started and stopt, had 11500 hours. Didn't use a drop of oil or coolant Second ran sort like yours, idling was half trottle till full. very sloppy and only maintained when broken. had 14000 ish hours. Frequent oil and coolant user. Both of them were not my daily machines The best of luck with her. She's a nice machine

Less wear. The looser you leave them but not so loose you rock around. Typically lift side machine off the ground and from bottom of rail to bottom of inside of bottm pad in middle of machine. Should hang down 11 to 12 inches. Good rule of thumb on that machine
