Great comprehensive video! And thanks for leaving the messy bits in. I think it is just as helpful to see what not to do and how tricky it is to work with new mediums. "Masking liquid should'nt be solid". That caused me so much stress less than two weeks ago lol. I was so mad when I thought that stuff had already gone bad because it was pretty much solid. And I had used it maybe 3 times. Thankfully shaking solved the issue.

Love it, thank you so much. The biggest I learned was the reminder I can use white gesso to dull down the blackness of the lines. Lately they've been bothering me a lot because when you do original colored penciled work black lines are the last thing you want. Thank you for the educational and informative video.

If your tape does not come off easily, you can try warming it up with a hairdryer to soften the glue

Thanks Emma this was a great comprehensive video. I’d love to see what of these options you suggest specifically for Amazon print paper. I have so many Amazon books that I need to work in because the images are lovely and worthy of being colored but the paper is so hard to work on sometimes. Like masking fluid would never work on Amazon paper I wouldn’t think. So what do you do if you’re doing an Amazon paper book?

If I am working on amazon paper and its a pocket size book i use alcohol markers with a little pencil shading round the edges, I use acrylic paint pens , or I use gel crayon dry an awful lot they turn out nice, and you can use soft pastel too

Lovely video! For the Oil pastels, the finger blend.. would it work with some type of silicone tool? The masking fluid is going to rip the paper even if it's dry.. it's not meant for paper like the coloring books, it's more meant for thougher paper liker watercolor paper

I have found a thin enough layer and yout ok on decent paper....that was a card stock so should of held up slightly better than it did, just the story of my life lol....i probably need to try more with the silicone tools it didnt move well for me so far
