Bilbo's reaction after killing the Spider was him confused on why he became suddenly violent and possessive over a simple ring. The spider touched the ring and Bilbo freaked out, gleefully killing it and proclaiming to the corpse that the ring belongs to him.

Loved seeing Legolas again! And Benedict Cumberbatch was phenomenal as Smaug. There are behind the scenes videos on KZbin of how they filmed some of his scenes, it's super cool. Btw, Evangeline Lilly who plays Tauriel was on Lost, which I hope you'll react to one day. Dominic Monaghan who plays Merry in LOTR was also on Lost and they actually dated for 3 years after meeting on set. Evangeline also plays Hope/the Wasp in MCU's Ant-Man. Luke Evans who plays Bard is also a singer and has been in several different theatre productions in West End (London's Broadway). He also played Gaston in the live-action Beauty and the Beast and Dracula in Dracula Untold, among many others.
@gabriellin1352
@gabriellin1352 16 күн бұрын
Luke Evans is the main villain in Beauty and the Beast. That’s his main iconic role in recent years. This man not only can act, but he also can sing! He brought the character into life. Please react to it, if you guys haven’t seen it 😊 All people who heard Mirkwood, knew that they were expected to see Legolas, as he’s the prince of Mirkwood. For this installment, the extended version is important in the sense that it shows the audience that Thrain, Thorin’s father is still alive until Gandalf found him. And the reason Thrain gave Gandalf the key 🔑 was to not want his son, Thorin to ever enter the mountain again, but Gandalf misunderstood it and did the opposite. The theatrical version cut off all Thrain scenes in this installment, not even shown any of his flashback scenes as well. Audience only saw Thrain in the first installment, so it made audience wondered and questioned what had happened to Thrain ever since. After watching the extended version, only it makes sense and becomes full circle ⭕️

Also consider when debating why LOTR ranks higher than the Hobbit: In LOTR, the fate of all Middle Earth is on the line......teetering on the edge of mankind and others being wiped from the face of the earth.....or enslaved. I would make the case the stakes could NOT be higher. However in The Hobbit, the fight is to get the dwarves home and gold back.....not quite the end of the world if they fail.

The one Jake hates is Ori, not Dori. Dori is the one with the ear trumpet. Ori is the dead dwarf holding the book at Balin's tomb in Moria during The Fellowship of the Ring. No, the Dwarves never see Smaug in the book, the whole part of them fighting Smaug was added to the movie.

To say that the extended versions are a waste of twenty-eight minutes of your life is asinine. A waste is if you simply watch all of the theatrical version. Why even start if you only wish to see a part of the total experience? You could simply watch other people's shortened reviews. Thorin's father was not in the theatrical version at all.

These movies it’s great but they were cut because audiences get restless. They’re definitely good to have. Some extended cuts of movies are a waste like dawn of the dead but the Tolkien movies definitely are better extended.

Okay just finished the reaction and I have to take back my previous comment, I guess he wasn't joking about the extended edition being a ''waste of time''. Man, reactors really need to be a little more respectful towards the content that clearly most of the people that follow them hold dear. Like, I understand that they might've not liked the movie(s) or just aren't that interested and I appreciate that they're being honest about it, but I feel like they could at least pick their words a little more carefully? Maybe check which scene(s) were added in the extended edition then judge if you liked them or not, but straight up calling them a waste is not the smartest thing to say if you want people to stick around for the third movie or to the channel to begin with. I noticed this pattern with a few other reaction channels so I'm not speaking about this one specifically, but I end up finding reasons to stop watching sooner or later.

1:01 Benedict Cumberbatch is a MASTER at doing different voices…. If they did any masking on his voice, it was just for the sound effect of being inside a cave. There’s some cool behind-the-scenes video footage that shows how he portrayed Smaug: Instead of just doing the voice in a sound booth, Benedict insisted that he be put in the same type of garb that Andy Sirkis wore to do the Gollum character. He crawled around on the floor, emulating all of Smaug’s physical mannerisms… so then Smaug was animated directly from Benedict’s movements and facial expressions.

✅️ thusly was Named the Shortsword "STING". Lolz, Legolas got "friendzoned" (mellon) by Tauriel. She want that "Deep" dwarf... Smaug just chewing the scene.... and getting embarrassed in an 11 v 1 against the dwarves during the Forge battle. There are quite a few adaptation liberties taken here... pretty, yes, but not from the source material, from the producer and marketing desks instead. 1. The Tauriel x Killi ship. 2. The Barrel rider battle. 3. The forge Battle vs Smaug. 4. The Orc Assassins in Lake Town. 5. A buncha other stuff as padding or focus group "good ideas".

Hard disagree on the extended version take Blake takes here. The extended stuff that was cut is mostly super fun action scenes with loads of gore/insane combos like the barrel scene, or scenes with insanely goated side characters from lord of the rings, that you can never have enough content from. Like Elrond or Galadriel or Saruman. You want more of them? Definitely prefer extended version. So yeah, while overall it stretches the movies, they are still super fun extended scenes.
@InfantryWife85
@InfantryWife85 17 күн бұрын
Yeah the extended scenes show what Gandalf was up to when he just poofed from the company before they entered Mirkwood. Some of it's actually canon in the lore (he was definitely called away to investigate the Necromancer in Dol Guldur to the south) but some specifics like Gandalf going to Rhudaur didn't happen. After their defeat at the Battle of Fornost about 1000 years prior to the events of The Hobbit, the Nazgul fled back to Mordor (they weren't buried in Rhudaur). So a bit of fudging on the part of the movie writers BUT still amazing scenes.

I’m here ❤ This is my least favorite and I think it’s because of how they portrayed the humans town, the mayor reminded me of Harry potters uncle, like they show their bad heart portraying it like how nasty or dirty they are, like how HP uncle would eat and they zoom in. In here the same like how the mayor would eat and food would come out of his mouth he clean it with his beard, and he looked like he hadn’t showered for years, his assistant and his puss acne. They look like they would smell, The water. I don’t know what trope that is. If anyone knows the name of this style of portraying let me know. I never know how to explain it but just describing it. Also I don’t like it because when I have nightmares they are like that, also AHS freak show is like that. Scares me because they remind me of my nightmares.

I didn't comment on the first movie but I can't hold it back. Pardon the following rant if walls of opinionated text aren't your thing. I haven't seen these movie since release. To be honest I really don't like what they did with them. For THREE full-length movies the parts of the book they left out and extra stuff they added in really just didn't gel with me. For instance, in the book the journey through Mirkwood takes months, and in these movies we get a X number of seconds cutscene. We could have had more Bilbo/Dwarf interactions that aren't just Thorin being a grumpy-guss. Nobody should feel like "woke propagandists" shoehorned the Kili/Tauriel romance into the movies but at the same time, I think they were a near complete waste of screen time. There is not one single scene her dialogue isn't about Kili. She's like the reverse Bechdel test. In my too-frequently-unhumble opinion, not every Hollywood movie needs a love story embedded in it, but the multiple sets of people/directors/writers behind the production of this troubled trilogy just couldn't resist the idea of "HOT ELF EVANGELINE LILLY", which, I will admit, is quite a sight. I will say that Tolkien himself often wrote about and fussed over elf/human relationships (Beren/Luthien and Aragorn/Arwen) and I think he might have approved.... Maybe. Hopefully. The most egregious problem for me is Bilbo's interactions with Smaug. In the book Bilbo enters the treasure room several times and he plays a poetic cat-and-mouse game with Smaug, as opposed to the "eyecandy ridiculousness" that fills the screen after they have a brief dialogue in these movies. For as AMAZING as a job that Benedict Cumberbatch did as Smaug's voice, I was sorta disappointed. The good parts though: The Gimli easter egg was great. One little detail that really makes me tear up a bit is that I think they gave Balin enough screen time and lines for me to recognize him more than the other dwarves and he just happens to be the occupant of the tomb that the fight in Moria takes place in during the Peter Jackson trilogy. They did not, however, give Ori enough screen time for me to realize (or particularly care...) that he is literally the skeleton that is holding the diary that mentions drums in the deep. To be clear.... I'm not a book purist. I'm just a critical hater on occasion. I went back to watch the 1978 animated film and it was a worthy cleanse.
