I can attest to this. They asked who can swim and didn't even separate my group. We just jumped in with everyone else and if you were drowning they pulled you out. Made you do it again to make sure....then separated you and gave remedial training. Which consisted of teaching how to float with your legs on the side of the pool....then they push you off so you're whole body is in the water and they teach you a basic stroke. As soon as I swam my very first 20 meters they immediately pulled me out and made me jump off the diving board. Which if I remember correctly was 3 stories high or so. I sank to the bottom and didn't know what to do. They pulled me out and made me do it again. It was pretty brutal but I was on top of the world that day when I passed.
