I've been looking for this one for ages - couldn't remember the title. Wogan used to play it regularly but I have never heard it on any other radio show. Just love it. The lyrics, the melody, rippling guitar and that compelling drum beat - oh yes and mustn't forget their harmonies.

The Hollies were the " best "........bar none. The most prolific, underrated group ever.
@billholt1747 жыл бұрын
Born in 1964, I dig the groups that were around in the '60s. The Hollies were great, but Lennon and McCartney wrote superbly, and The Zombies had a darker, soulful nuance that The Hollies didn't have. The melodically magical "Tell Her No" and "Time Of The Season" are equal to anything The Hollies did. I hate comparing greats that stand on their own merits and shouldn't be the stuff of contest. ; ] "He Ain't Heavy' was a fine one, and the power of the lyric line was even stronger than the soaring melody.
@NoDice594 Жыл бұрын
@@billholt174I guess it all comes down to personal preferences. Personally I think The Zombies were great but to me The Hollies were the only group that were at per with Beatles.Their catchy melodies and blending of those 3 voice was exquisite and sublime.

This one passed me by until the Late, Great Terry Wogan started playing it (I think it would be on his list of favourites). I love it and can't believe that I don't remember it being released - maybe it was an album track? I was there when they first hit our charts with 'Stay' back in 1963.
