Yeah but Jesus died and defyied death by resurrecting not only for our sins, but for all the ritual practices to be substituted with the act of accepting his body and blood, this way rendering the chapters 1-7 no longer necessary to practice. It's still good to read them though since it gives you a sense of how much change Jesus' death made for us.

My goal is to listen to the whole bible. Of all people, I read Jordan Peterson's 12 Rules, and it made me reassess my whole life. 13.5 years ago, I turned my back on all religion. I still lived a moral and righteous lifestyle. While atheism makes sense, I just can't believe that my conscientiosness disappears at death. That means life has no value, no purpose. That is a very nihillistic approach to life. Plus, atheist are very militant against all theists. So, 3 weeks ago, I chose to not come back to, but become more religious. I want to be a man people look up to at funerals. My coworker is an associate pastor, and he officiated his wife's funeral and did not shed a tear until he finished his speech. I am 44, but he is one if the men I look up to.

No, Exodus is also about how The Lord carried the children of Israel out of Egypt (slavery), to make them a nation according to the promise he gave to Abraham. It’s also about laws and statutes that the Lord God wants Israel to know about him and not just Israel but also the mixed multitude that came into the wilderness with them. One law for all people.

Maybe the significance of the repetitive sacrificing of the goats and lambs etc is to let us see the importance of the sacrifice of blood offering. Showing us what all they had to do to be clean before JESUS offered himself and all that was unnecessary. If not for JESUS we would still have to do that today. The Bible is spiritual and you have to read it with understanding in the spirit ❤

​@@andygeary3531circumcision is still observed, as far as pork, some do and some don't, sacrifice/ offering unto the Lord is misunderstood and so is most of what the Bible means Jesus didn't come to abolish but to fulfill the law... Meaning he came to correct our understanding of the law. The law is not simply applying outward ritual but is internal. If a man looks on a woman with lust in his heart then he as committed adultery. The law runs deeper than the simplistic surface level actions of completing rituals or observation of the law. He spoke in parables so we could understand that you have to look beyond the surface to understand. He pointed out that names have meaning, he also made a point to teach us that we need to look at Hebrew words and meanings, not just the Greek (not just the current language but the etymology of the word itself) The OT is still very important but we need to study beyond the surface worldly understanding of it. God created the heavens and the earth and all life which are complex and he created the word (living word, the book of life) and gave it to us in written form, and because his people didn't understand, he sent the word of life to the world in the form of a man to be able to correct the understanding of any who would believe so that people had a chance to be saved by his teachings / corrections. The salvation doesn't occur because you know about the door, you must seek out the door, you must knock and buy will be opened and you can walk through it freely. The truth is hidden, but is put there for us to seek out for understanding. Not everyone is required to do the same things the key is in the Hebrew meaning of names of people, places, lands, rivers and nations. The only universal laws are the 11 commandments that are often only seen as 10. The first one is a commandment to remember who saved you from your house of bondage, in order to faithfully keep the rest, you have to understand the first which is actually last because the rest are how you get out.
