This is the home buying process in 10 steps, part 2!
Phase 2 of buying a home is what most people think of when they think about moving. It’s actually finding the property you want and settling on a price.
Step 5: Finding the home. Depending on the market, this can take anywhere from a week to a couple of years! It all depends on the price point you’re searching in and the current market conditions.
Step 6: Making an offer. Depending on market conditions, your offer may be under or over the listing price, with or without contingencies. Contingencies are just additional requirements that both parties agree upon before the property is officially sold.
Step 7: Getting the property inspected. Inspections are a hugely important aspect of the process of buying a home because they tell you everything your eyes can’t see about the property. These inspections can then determine whether the property needs repairs or if the offer price needs to be adjusted based on the actual condition of the house.
