I recently started listening to the home team again. I used to associate them with pop punk. BUT MAN. This new sound???? I can't stop listening to them. After listening to slow bloom, I don't think I can ever recall a time where I listen to an entire album the first time and felt the hooks in EVERY song. It usually takes a couple of relistens of an album for me to get the hooks to the point where I start grooving with it. Jesus christ these guys are funky as fuck. I feel like I jumped back in at the right time, with this new album coming out soon. I've been craving for a LONG fucking time to find a band that has that swancore-y feel. I can't emphasize enough how much The Home Team filled the gap and then some ALSO, I am so in love with the colorgrading on this. It's not that common to see a music video from a band that uses a filmic grade. I mostly see film grades from solo artists, rappers, etc.. but only seen it a handful of times from bands. Most bands grade their videos in a surreal or hyperrealistic way, like a Michael Bay movie. So it's refreshing to see a soft bloom in music videos with heavier music. So Sam LInk, if you ever see this, I am a fan of your work. Good fucking job man.
