I made documentaries for 45 years and loved the experience. At 78 I'm more or less retired and often wish I wasn't, especially after watching a piece like this one and feeling its power. It is powerful largely because it tells a truth that disturbs me; it should disturb all of us. Yes, I'm aware of homelessness but I'm not conscious of it every day. To the people in this film, homelessness is their life. This powerful story says so much more about human strength that it does about frailty and more about love and the human heart than heartlessness. Thank you to Susan Polis Shutz for bringing attention to these remarkable people and this extraordinary choir; to the story that it tells and the hope that it brings. Everyone deserves a home and it seems that your work is helping that to happen. Betty Søvik

I saw you on AGT! You are totally an example of life, how to deal with it, and especially from being so strong towards to every little special story that was told... Every story made my heart beat faster... When I was 8, I had to live in my sister’s family as a favor because we did not have anything to eat... I started working when I was a child and I am here... Working as a Lower School Teacher! I am from Brazil and we see a lot of homeless people everyday in São Paulo... Beautiful ones who have pretty stories to tell.... Love you! Beautiful people! 💖🙏

My oldest son (now deceased) used to feed a homeless man, who would show up when Scott's job, had a lunch truck come by - because Scott would always buy him lunch. My middle son would NEVER do that! Scott told him - someday Jay, I could be homeless, and I hope some decent person will actually buy my lunch, instead of just watching me go through a dumpster for food! Dear God, I was SO thankful he understood, that we are here TO LOOK AFTER ONE ANOTHER!!! God Bless those who care for others! They are God's gift to us all!

This broke my heart and angry that there isn’t much help when I was 7yrs old my family and I were homeless for months thank God we slept in our truck but it was so hard yet my mom being the best mom slept sitting down so I can stretch out my legs and later in life bought a house I’m so proud of my mom and she passed two years ago because of her I started a ministry called MDT Ministries to help those in need and my dream is to also use my music to fund it and help people get off streets and I ask for your prayers as I am praying for u I found u through America’s got talent God has opened doors only Him alone

I could write so much in response. I have my own stories that are interwoven with some of theirs, and here I am healed from it all because of the gift of my voice and music. And I teach and fuse psychology with music to heal my students, so many of whom have anxiety, and other issues because of today's challenges of too much technology, not enough face time, and neglectful parenting. Not enough funding for addiction and mental illness, and selfish people in and out of government ostracizing those in peril. We are no longer the United States. But for those of us who can, we will use our voices to help others find their way to healing and help, and maybe there is hope for this country if we sing loud enough.

Wow, God has lead me here, I started to cry, I then looked up at the screen and Steph Johnson was crying. I today realized how blessed I really truly on. God bless the individuals that are addicted by homelessness. I know that a few kind words, some music and a bag of oranges can definitely go a long long way!

I just don't understand the world most powerful, most advanced, yet they have so many poorest and homeless human beings whose lives don't seem to matter. I live in the Scandinavian, we pay very high taxes, but everyone, especially the "poor or those who loose their jobs for whatever reasons, they are all taken care of. I cannot understand why Americans think that the Scandinavian model is bad. It's sad to see these human beings go through such suffering.😢☹️. May God bless the organisers of this choir.

To start i'll like to thank each and every person involved with this show, my hat goes off to you all. I'm just curious though just from different shows that I've watched about homelessness in America is that i see neighborhoods that have abandoned buildings etc: Why can't homeless organisations help get people into some of those buildings and at least get a roof over peoples heads? Yes i understand some buildings are past being able to put people in because of it being unsafe etc: As told in this documentary not all homeless people are Junkies and i'm sure if cities allowed people to be able to stay in these places the people themselves could make these buildings a home. Anyways i'd just like to say that a young lady i seen in this documentary touched my heart Miss Brook, what a wonderful young lady and a blind lady i''m not sure if anyone that reads this can tell them that i'm thinking of them all the way here in Australia i'd be forever grateful.
