great work,that unit is a monster ....like the blocks under the new outbuilding-you have the room for anything in there

Might want to have that turbo looked at - otherwise, fantastic video.

The turbo is brand new, what makes you say it needs looked at?
@donmcgimpsey170620 күн бұрын
@@BigBlue12V it just seemed to not spool up under load, tons of soot. But maybe that is normal. I noticed that the saw caused most of the torque demand, not the splitter. I could be imagining things.

@donmcgimpsey1706 this was a factory non turbo engine. Therefore it doesn't have an air-fuel control aneroid. So it is pretty dirty until the turbo spools. The turbo isn't sized 100% perfect for the situation, but it is what they use on turbo kits for Kubota utility diesels with similar size engine. Yes the saw is a lot of load. The turbo does spool but often the saw puts the load on harder and faster than the turbo can react and spool fully. I'm still tweaking fueling adjustments to get best performance. It's a work in progress as always.

Wish we could have been a little closer to see the work being done.

@tamarastephens8190 there are many videos of this machine on our channel, most taken at various points in it's evolution, which is still ongoing. It is currently in the shop for several more upgrades, with a few more planned for the future. This video was mostly to show the whole operation. Unfortunately we do not have a camera crew and editing staff to make exciting videos with footage from multiple angles in the same video. However, stay tuned as we will for sure be putting out more videos of this with the latest updates in the very near future! Thanks for watching!

I like the design but its a little underpowered. Engine is lugging and the belt stops when youre sawing. Might want a bigger wedge also to eliminate the guy resplitting the oversize.

@williamjames7705 still dialing in the tuning for the turbo. This machine is a constant work in progress. You can have speed or power but it's expensive and complicated to have both. Most processors do not make perfect wood in one pass. Please share your homemade processor build with us, we'd love to see it!

@williamjames7705 it's only 20hp engine in the first place. Running a 6 way wedge with only around 12-13 tons in the current pressure setting. The belt stops when sawing because it is running off of leftover fluid. I had just ordered another pump just for the conveyor, which arrived yesterday. That will keep it running all the time. Which doesn't even matter, it keeps up with the wood flow just fine as you can see. However with splitting large size outside boiler wood it needs more drive pressure than it can get in the current configuration, thus the need for it's own pump. It will also smooth out the load on the engine when sawing. Again, it is a work in progress. I'm not an engineer, I didn't go to college, and I do not build and sell these for a living. I'm happy with it, but I'd love to see yours, always looking for ideas!
