There are things that need to be taught and things that need to be practiced. Those that need to be practiced should be homework. And if you realise that something is not clear during homework you go back next day and ask questions about it. I agree that the volume needs to be under control.

Evening re-referencing class studies works to keep up with lesson plans. You really only need a couple of hours a night.

I also like the system in Europe where the students start specializing in something in middle school and high school.

well in the uk we choose our subjects every year, and our final year if were good enough we do 1st year university level work. is that not the same for you?

You work from the early morning into the afternoon on really hard subjects, just for them to send you home to do more work?! Destroys your free time and your desire to learn

Bit of a radical opinion but I think we are doing FAR too much math and science. The amount of lifestyles and professions that require a person to know chemistry and Algebra is a fraction of a fraction.
@HeresTomWithTheWeather2 ай бұрын
Thats just generally false. Carpentry, plumbing- most blue collar professions use algebra more than white collar fields. Every medical field, but especially paramedicine; the field which I went into uses algebra and chemistry every day.
@youngfreshsandwitch2 ай бұрын
@@HeresTomWithTheWeather I respect your point but I would kindly disagree. All the professions you mentioned are 100% necessary and do in fact require said skills. I simply believe a healthy economy should be made up of primarily small businesses owners, farmers, and manufacturing workers. Those are the professions we need to set people up to succeed in, not create everyone as a jack of all trades for a service based economy
