and they literally have a Sweethearts Nite event with all the princesses&princes coupled up, I just think outraged straight people don’t see those kinds of events as anything exceptional since we’ve already come to expect straight characters from Disney. So to them they don’t think they’re being singled out when literally they are Disney’s default. It’s giving “I am feel uncomfortable when we are not about me?” when Disney is the codifier for things like the straight True Loves Kiss etc. The one time Disneyland has an optional paid after hours event for the LGBTQIA+ community the straights lose their goddamn minds when literally every other regular day is straight day/family day at the Parks lol.

My wife and I honeymooned in southern California, including a week at Disneyland, and let me tell you that not one person said a word to us about kissing at the park. The double standard is real. It kills me as a member of the community (bi) that my siblings suffer under this stupid social pressure. And it's only getting worse. A queer person can't step outside these days without getting accused of public indecency. We deserve better.

I want to go to Disneyland's Pride Event so badly; I genuinely feel a Pride Event at Disney this year would be far safer than anywhere else in the country considering how the community has a major target in it's back and head due to all the witch hunts created by conservatives. Yes I know that there would be protests outside the park as at Disneyland one of the entrances lies in front of the city so people can hold protests there, but again once inside I feel guests would be safer.

It is pure delusion to equate gayness with "debauchery" and we need to talk more about that. That one lady talking about her brother... I can see that she was clearly upset about the situation and I can't blame her, but the Gay Day part was an irrelevant tangent to seeing an inappropriate video on a bus. She leapt from "public obscenity" to "homosexuality" with no through line connecting the two except her personal beliefs. Far too any people are making that leap even today and it puts all of us in danger, queer or not.
@pap64 Жыл бұрын
Also I know I commented on this already, but I just love the hypocrisy of the parents talking about "MY BABY SAW TWO MEN KISSING I THOUGHT THIS WAS A FAMILY PLACE!". Like anyone that has either worked at the parks of been to the parks know that all sorts of non-family friendly shenanigans happen that would scar more kids than two men or women kissing, such as fights breaking out against families, often becoming violent with obscenities being shouted, or straight couples being caught having sex in public areas, or people smoking weed in restrooms, or people doing TikTok videos that have them doing stuff like twerking in nothing but underwear for everyone to see, or people getting drunk around the world at EPCOT and then yell curse words and act like fools. Surely these things would create legitimate confusion and worries within kids and families than two people of the same sex kissing ...Straight people are just so weird sometimes...

Marvelous video again my dear! I had the pleasure of going to my first ever gay days in Disney World back in June 2015, it was part of a LGBTQ homeless coalition and I felt so happy to be there. My only gripe was because I was part of a group I was not able to independently go to the brand new expanded fantasyland section. It was just the same as any other day, busy, maybe hand holding and a peck on the cheek or lips rarely, but nothing groundbreaking. Living my life should not have to be controversial but apparently it is, so I guess myself and my loved ones will just have to continue living controversially.

When he comes home one day though, he can't find his parents anywhere and realizes he has to rescue them since they have been taken to a mysterious fantasy world. Along his adventure, he befriends many people, including having a crush on a trans princess. ^^ A coming-of-age story that follows a boy learning to believe in himself and embrace his weirdness!" Bear with me when I say this. I feel bad for the lower Disney employee hierarchy because I noticed they are not the problem when it comes to Disney “queerphobia”. For the most part, because employees are people, they are supportive. I hate how the bosses have to ruin anything good. I get some customers have issues with gay people, but not all of them do. Disney being “pure” needs to stop especially since we are not living in the 50s anymore. While I do believe there is more than one form of purity, especially across different culture, but Disney’s (again, the higher ups) have a Frollo definition of purity.

Funny story, I was at the very first Gay Day at WDW. I was eight years old, it was the opening day of the Winnie the Pooh ride, and though we were supposed to leave for the airport in a few hours, my parents took me and my sister to the park so we could ride it before we went home. They took notice of the many men in red shirts or Minnie hats holding hands and felt a teensy bit awkward, but my sister and I were just focused on getting on the ride. At the end of the day, you don’t have to worry about “the children”. They just want to have fun on the attractions and see their favorite characters and most likely won’t notice or care about the same-sex couples walking around doing the same.

I mean I guess Disney did teach me what gay is. My mom was worried one summer that we’d be in the park and I’d say “mommy why are those two men holding hands?” not because she was worried that it would poison my mind, but because she was worried I would embarrass some poor gay couple by blurting that out. So she explained to me what gay people are. And guess what? It was super easy to explain and to understand.

Why are people connecting homosexuality to Satan worship? I know your channel is about Disney specifically, but I still want to see more discussion about where people get their wild beliefs.
@DreamsoundsVideo Жыл бұрын
I think the connection is that some people view being gay as a moral deviation that has a direct religious connotation and in some extreme cases that turns into "if it's morally wrong it's the work of the devil". Add to that the Satanic Panic of the 80s and it's no surprise to me that it also coincided with the AIDS Crisis, which many people also viewed as "punishment" for the "deviant lifestyles" of LGBTQ people. There are other associations of gay people with "devil worship" throughout history, but that's where I believe the modern US-American version comes from. I could talk more about that history, but I do like keeping this channel about Disney lol
