YES. She had 5 young kids and a brand new baby too. It’s astonishing that he went on an almost 2 week vacation during that time with another woman. And I’m sure he gaslighted Christine and gave her some speech about her ‘behavior’ because she felt emotional and jealous about it. Neither of which are in her control, especially being postpartum!!

Also…at this time. Christine was living on food stamps + just filed bankruptcy (and had a newborn); and Janelle had filed Bankruptcy. Robyn came into the fam with 3 more kids, $30K in debt…and then demanded equal time with Kody like the other wives, a lavish wedding AND honeymoon that the other wives didn’t get at all. She’s a nightmare.

What’s the most telling is that Robin doesn’t trust her sister wives to watch her children while she’s on her honeymoon. Robin has her mother stay with the children, Mary Hass to call to ask if she can take the kids for a day trip. Even at that Robin has to think about it. These aren’t women she trusts, but she’s willing to take their husband.

Yes Christine was considered the "mom" of the group but when she had Truely she made it clear she did not want to play that role any longer and she actually told them. Her struggles were so obvious that she was yearning for that "romantic" connection she was witnessing playing out before her eyes. So when the inevitable break-up happened it was like we all were able to take that much needed breath. Finally! Spoken or not we were all emotionally invested in her wellbeing and wanted to see her happy and free of the torture she was living in. I'm sure this is why we cannot wait to see her living her best life!

Meri, Janelle and Christine had established equilibrium where none got romanced by Kody and each was valued only for what they added to the family, not by who they were. They could be happily miserable together, accepting that they were suffering for their faith and it was making them "better" Mormon wives. When Kody decided to change all that by giving Robyn the romance they had ALL really craved, how could this ever work out? The wedding was just the first of years of preferring the new wife over the old wives. I hope none of the 3 get sucked back into "marriage" with Kody, and can go find real husbands who love them.

I think the fact that Kody & Meri kept dating Robyn a secret from Janelle & Christine set up the jealousy and resentment factor big time. If they had been up front & honest from the beginning, I think it would of made a HUGE difference. Meri adored being the only one to know about their dating and I believe she thought Kody would think more highly of her for suggesting it. However, once the reality of what life is like after she joined the family, I think Meri had buyer’s remorse (despite loving Robyn as a person). What can I say? You reap what you sow Meri!

Great video, but I have a slightly different take on Robyn's responsibility. Robyn is "courting" Kody in the romantic sense, but she had a responsibility to the other women to mirror what their experiences were when they entered into polygamy with the Browns. From the beginning, she demanded from the 3 wives equal access to Kody as if she were married to him. From the beginning, she wasn't willing to sacrifice any of her wants and needs when that sacrifice flowed back to the wives. This is a common thread throughout the entire series. We even hear her saying that "they" took away "her" (Robyn's) dream when talking about one/more of the wives. A person can say they are willing to sacrifice for the common good. But when they can but do not, then their actions say their true intent. On the show, Robyn has an amazing capacity to rationalize what she "deserves" even when it is obvious what she wants is hurtful to someone else. She had to know that Christine just giving birth 2 weeks prior was going to need Kody - but they had the 11-day honeymoon anyway. Robyn had to know Kody wasn't trying to work on his marriage with Meri. But there Robyn was, begging Meri to stick it out with her (Robyn) to rebuild the family. In fact, one of the constants for the entire series is that Robyn will always prioritize what Robyn wants. This behavior began the second she decided she wanted to be married to Kody.

And on that- it has irritated me so much that Robyn is always acting like she’s pro family, “stick with me meri”, etc… but yet… as we’ve witnessed- as meri has even said before- Robyn’s never inviting her over to “hang with them”, never including her- she can’t watch their children ( which is so weird) and when she ( meri) is over at their house for filming- they’re ALWAYS sitting outside. Even this seasons episode when they were freezing but she didn’t bother inviting meri. I know it’s an edited show and we only see what they show us- but just from that- Robyn’s WORDS don’t match her ACTIONS.

I'm trying to imagine my partner saying 'Oh I love you. Just not like romantically- yaknow like HER. But you help alot around the house and bring money in, and we have great conversations. That's cool right? You don't need a romantic connection like I do'. I'd be DONE. That is beyond selfish. I love watching Kody's world just implode today, it's been a long time coming. And if he had just been HONEST the whole thing could've been avoided. He could've just said 'Look, I fell in love with Robyn. I'm sorry this happened. It's not fair to you guys. I want you to be happy. We can all still build on Coyote Pass and coparent our childern. You guys can date (or not) and if you find someone great!! We can keep the show going and help each other with money and make sure everyone and all the kids are cared for.' If he had been willing to do that and actually parent ALL his kids, he'd still have the money, the property, the show, Robyn, his kids and the OG 3 would still be helping him. But he was too greedy. He didn't want the OG 3 to be happy- he wanted ALL of their time & money. Somehow without being a parent since that's a 'mommy job'. He honestly expected them to live alone without any love, unless he needed something out of their garadge lol. So now he's lost everything. He still technically has the show, but that's just a manner of time. He showed his @ss and now the fans HATE him. And Robyn by default because she encouraged and helped him become the worst version of himself. He is now a TLC villian who 90% of his childern and everyone who watches HATES.

Something else to know is that just before they got the show, they were struggling financially - food stamps and bankruptcy struggles. TLC came swooping in just as Kody & Robyn were getting married and footed the bill for the wedding. For the wives who endured food stamps and bankruptcy, to see Robyn come in and have an entirely different experience in her marriage to Kody compared to their struggles, it had to be galling. Not only that, but they were in tremendous debt from what I've read, and spending TLC money on a big expensive wedding when they had debts must have seemed foolish. Janelle alluded to this at the time. The terrible thing about Kody relegating specific roles to the wives - designating one as his intellectual partner, one as the motherly partner, etc ... is that the wives never get to be their whole selves. Christine wanted more than to only be a mother figure in her husband's eyes. The good news is that she has become engaged to a man who seems to appreciate her whole self and she is finally having a real ROMANCE.

By "I have something different and special with each wife" what Kody actually means is: "Meri was my first crush and she was cool with me bringing in more wives, I was a young religious guy who couldn't sleep around. What better way to ease religious guilt while still exploring sexually than to join a polygamist church and have sex with multiple women under the guise of religion. So I married Meri, it doesn't matter that she wasn't everything I wanted because I can bring in more wives until I get what I actually want. She used to be my favorite wife (according to Paedon) but I don't even like her now, she made my life harder and only gave me 1 child. Janelle idolized me, I liked her personality, but what I liked most was that she was a hard worker, had a decent job and owned her own house so I married her too and we all moved into her house. I married Christine to be part of the AUB royal family, it made me more important with church members, she was also so in love with me that she was willing to do what I wanted and took care of all the kids and house so my other wives could work and bring in money for me. She was my "yes girl" and status symbol. All of these women were enamored with me and allowed me to spread my awesome seed and make plenty of amazing lil Kodys to populate the world with. I'm such a gift from god that I want to make as many copies of me as possible. I married women who I didn't view as good enough or attractive enough for me so that they would worship me. While keeping my congregation of Kody worshippers I found a women who I thought was hot, she didn't let things like kids, jobs or responsibilities stop her from doing what she wanted to do. She was never preoccupied with a job and she'd let babysitters raise her kids so that she could give me all her time and attention. I fell in love for real this time and married her too. Now I can spend all of my time with the women I actually like, we can team up and blame my old wives for everything, after all we're perfect people. Then the other wives can support us while we test out every piece of Victoria's Secret lingerie and sit on our thrones as King Kooty & Queen Sobyn." Someone once said Kody reminded her of Gaston from Beauty And The Beast, literally the best description of him anymore could make.

The other 3 wives lived through years of severe financial stress. So, a luxury honeymoon for a new younger wife would be salt in a wound. The 3 wives worked together to meet the different needs of the family. They pooled their money/resources and made individual sacrifices. Robyn never contributed to the family. She didn't work, provide child care or even emotional support to anyone but Kody and her children. She expected the other wives to make sacrifices for her and her kids. I think the other wives and fans are resentful of R. entitlement and complete lack of understanding of the sacrifices by the other wives/children to meet her needs. In addition to K expectations that the other wives to accept the massive shift in the family dynamics.

I think that not only is Kody an asshole, their relationship was destined to fail. First of all polygamy isn’t usually a healthy relationship dynamic, but also if you’re gonna do it you have to be fair across the board. The fact that he did everything differently with Robyn- kissed her when they were dating, had an real actual wedding with a real dress, took a MUCH longer and more special honeymoon, gave Robyn equal time before they were even married, took better care of and was more present for Robyn’s kids, bought her a bigger, nicer house, spent far more time with her than the others, hired her a nanny, listened to her position and understood her in arguments…. I could go on for days.

What better to film than the man with a new wife on vacation while the other wives stay at home to stew? Also, now that we know the extent of the poverty in the family’s financial history and Kody & Robyn’s appetite for expensive things, they were able to indulge themselves with TLC paying for it. Couple of other things were Christines' newborn Truely and also the family was still in pretty bad shape financially at this point. Christine and Robyn were on food stamps and Robyn still had over $30,000 in consumer debt hanging over her head. Kody had also use what extra money the family had on moving Robyn to Utah and an extravagant wedding/reception. He showered her and her kids with extravagant presents as well but never made sure all his kids had health insurance. Messed up priorities from the get. Last thought is did you notice that anytime one of the other wives expressed sadness or anger Robyn begins to cry to draw attention away from the fact that she is part of the cause? The reason the OG3 felt guilty for feelings of jealousy about Kody being away with Robyn was because of their faith. You have to remember, being a polygamist wife means you must “progress in handling your feelings” when your husband is with another wife. That’s the whole point of polygamy for them. To learn to progress in order to achieve a new level of happiness within their marriages and be able to submit to their husband in everything. So, yes they feeling guilty and angry with themselves that they are still struggling with these feelings as a new young, pretty wife enters the picture and whisks Kody away from them all. Ironically, I too submit to my husband but thankfully he would never, ever take a second wife! Lol He has said “Absolutely not! One wife is enough.”

I just do not understand the culture where the wives are taught that having jealousy over sharing 1 man is not normal. Kody tamped down their feelings as abnormal at every turn. Their behavior of anger or inequity at seeing their other sister wives' relationships getting different treatment from Kody only angered him further when brought to the surface. The wives were not supposed to have feelings other than "Kody is the best".

In the earlier seasons you can see the years of cult manipulation over all of them. It’s so interesting as the years have rolled on watching each one of them evolve out of that thinking. How I would love for Meri , Janelle and Christine to each write their own book and talk about that slow waking up process. I also believe Meri stuck around as long as she did, because she didn’t want to disappoint her mother.

The wives anger is misdirected at themselves. Their anger should be directed at Kody for treating them so dismissively and at Robyn for being greedy and selfish, but most importantly at polygamy itself for being a system that sets women up to be used and abused.

I love Janelle. We saw her put weight and lost weight during the years. It was stress. Janelle herself confess she was a stress eater. I think all the disruptions Robin caused make her suffer and we saw that in her weight changes. Now that she is not with Kody anymore she has her eating and weight under control and we can infer that she is happy with her life, no stress eating. No motives tô stress eating. Janelle is beautiful and now she is even prettier. I am so happy for her

🛑 maybe you should give a segment on- ‘Why did Kody marry Robyn? What were the sister wives thinking Robyn was going to bring to the family? 1. Was she going to get a job (2 help financially?). 2. What was Robyn going to contribute to the family by marrying Kody? 3. What was the family going to gain by bringing Robyn into the group? Lastly state: the family gained Nothing by bringing Robyn in- you have to wonder’Why did they even want Robyn, she seemed like a poor candidate as supposedly someone who has a job and a yearly tax refund to bring to the table ? Am I right 🧐 ?

From what I understand, one of the fundamental tenant of polygamy is that the treatment of the wives is supposed to be equitable. His relationship with Robyn is an obvious violation of that tenant.

This was (from the beginning) more of Kody and Robin BS - being able to do things differently than he did with his other wives. If I were a wife, the moment I found out that he had kissed Robin - it's a done deal. That relationship needs to end - because you have changed the rules! None of the rest were kissed before the wedding day - because he is a married man and not married to you yet! Just going by their own Church "rules". there was a plan here from these two from the beginning.

I feel sorry for Janelle and Christine who were left in the dark purposely by Meri and Kody over the beginning of the decision to court Robin. Meri thought she was going to be in better terms with Kody having this secret. What she got? He divorce her to make Robin the legal wife. That is karma. Poor Christine had just had a baby and having to go through her post partum alone having to endure all the romance going on between Robin and Kody right in front of her eyes. It was heartbreaking to see. I think this must have hurt her a lot. She was and still is strong. I admire her. Robin is spoiled, a big spender and never had a real job like the other wives. The first 3 wives build the family. Robin came only to disrupt and take advantage of the tv money time. Now Kody lost the first “REAL” compromise wives and I am sure when TLC cancel Sister Wives, Robin will divorce Kody. I love your KZbin channel, I don’t leave many comments, but I love your Sister Wives content. Best wishes and regards from Brazil 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷

I think for better insight into Robyn you should do a little research on her prior marriage. It is said she has a shopping problem , hid her purchases from her ex until they were heavily in Debt. Evidently his family paid off her debt and shortly after she divorced him. I do believe she lied about her ex and his relationship with his kids and used the threat he could take them away to get Meri to divorce Kody. All so she could become the legal wife and number on e lead wife. Please note in future episodes she becomes the all knowing explainer of poligamy and Kody. She is very manipulative including with Kody.
