@lorianabanana6066
@lorianabanana6066 2 жыл бұрын
Right? He could've stayed for a day or 2. Get a separate hotel room, wear a mask, stand 6 feet away etc. Then not only the fact that a wedding is fine somehow, but when Robyn had to be hospitalized for C19, he wanted to check himself in cuz 'Maybe I need a chest X-ray'. Dude just admit that you don't want to leave Robyn & her kids. I'd respect him so much more if he was just honest about his feelings. Like if you want to only be romantic w Robyn- cool!!! I only want my partner, I get it. But you still owe your other children a relationship. You owe your other wives help figuring out at least their housing. Sell the mansion. Get the houses built. Then everyone can just live their lives and you can rent out the rest for income. Everyone wins. You can have friendships/coparent w the other wives and settle w Robyn. But NOPE. He wants the money & clout polygamy gives him. He wants the attention/respect being a 'patriach' brings. He can't let go of the control without feeling like he 'lost' somehow. So he just wants to pull away to 'punish' the rest of his family like he did to Meri. Jokes on him. That worked w Meri. Mostly due to her humilation after the catfish. She just wanted to go back to as close to 'normal' as possible. And their marriage had been awful forever. Ironic since this lead to the catfish to begin with. But Christine & Janelle ultimately won't just take it. Neither will his other kids. They'll bail. By trying to bully them into coming back he is dooming any future relationships. And that TLC paycheck. Also eventually when only Robyn & her kids are left, he'll turn his anger & frustration on them. Once Robyn loses not only the big family, but her honeymoon relationship too... Ya she'll leave too. Might take awhile. Might not. Either way he's letting his control issues, attention seeking & attempt to 'be the patriach' ruin his family & life. But the only sympathy I feel is for the rest of his family. He sunk his own ship.

I don’t have a psychology degree, but I could easily recognize Kody’s absolute emotional abuse to his kids, especially Gabe. Kody uses the health of his relationships with the mothers as a way to guide his relationships with his children. Christine’s kids and Janelle’s older kids recognize this about him and discuss. They are all going to need therapy to undue the damage he’s done to their self esteem.

You mean Christine. Janelle didn't raise her kids. She dumped them on Christine and said it was because she had to work. Someone needed to inform Janelle that plenty of moms work and raise their kids. Her kids have said many times that they consider Christine to be their mother figure. Gabriel said he sees Christine as his mom right in front of Janelle and she didn't even seem to care. One of Janelle's sons, Logan, has publicly stated that he was forced to take care of his younger siblings and doesn't know if he even wants kids because he had to raise his siblings already. He had to get them all up for school, dress them, feed them and get them to the bus stop after they moved to Las Vegas and Janelle could no longer dump her younger kids onto Christine. Logan refused to be on the TV show and left home right after high school. Janelle and Kody offered him no help paying for college. He worked hard and paid for it alone. He recently got his master's degree and got married. Logan is very bitter about what Janelle did to him and I don't blame him.

@@mygirldarby I have a question about your perspective. I view the dynamic between Christine and Janelle as more of a breadwinner-homemaker relationship. The two are very much like a nuclear family where one works and the other cares for the kids. I do not understand how men can work and leave their kids home to be taken care of by their spouse while they work, yet women who have that same family dynamic are shamed for it. Janelle does the same thing that millions of men do based on their chosen family dynamic, yet you bash her for it. Can't think anything more painful than that for a child (or a spouse), to have affection/consideration/love withheld just because you don't agree with or act the way they want you to. Sad for all of them.

You couldn’t have explained it any better than with the “dance!” When my son was graduating from ARMY, I drove by myself 34 hours to watch him graduate. The car trip home would give us each overdue time together, catching up and speak freely as adults. We were really enjoying this new type of relationship and assembling it properly. I thought he would be upset with me because it was a risky endeavor for me (Autoimmune Disease, liver failure and some lung issues when it flares) and I “showed up” happy and smiling! Our Family Mantra has always been “SHOW UP” and you will never be wrong. This teaches to own not only your accountability but your value. He is our oldest of 5, so my husband stayed back to keep the little ones in school and in rhythm (our baby is autistic). There’s nothing that separates our children from us. We travel together, vacation together, RV camp together and much more. I feel satisfied as a mother. We now have best friends as they are all over 18. A family that grows together stays together. Each has their uniqueness and rockstar qualities. I think my perception as a parent is why I dislike this Kody. He loves himself first. He should have moved mountains to be with his daughter for her surgery. Christine raised such beautiful children with sweetest of souls. Her sweet daughter said it was ok that Kody would not be there. How incredibly unselfish she acted. She had more adult qualities than her own father. People like him demand those who are permitted to be in HIS life be unselfish and non restrictive. This is so the narcissistic behavior can shine. A good parent puts their children above their self. Kody is grotesque and an extremely poor decision maker. He is THE DANCE. I would encourage everyone to keep Kody at arm’s length because he is a delusional narcissist and will inflict emotional stress and pain just by being himself.

The term gaslighting does come from the movie Gaslight. It seems to me that Kody is under the impression that when the kids reach a certain age he is no longer responsible for their needs - emotional, financial, anything. I don't think he has really emotionally attached to anyone. When his wives don't act the way he thinks they should - he shuts them down, and when his kids start to see the cracks in his facade he cuts them off. This episode made me particularly angry. It wasn’t just that the wife was taking her husbands last name, it was that she was willing and wanting for them to be introduced as Mr and Mrs Brad Smith (whatever his full name was). Kody thought there marriage would be a success because she wanted to basically go unnamed, as just a part of her husband. I have no issue with brides and grooms being introduced like that, but it was how Kody twisted that into her being submissive and a good wife if she wanted to give up her self autonomy and only identify as an aspect of her husband. That was VERY telling of where kody’s head is at in relation to his wives who want their own voices to be heard.

I am not sure if it was my mama bear instincts kicked in but I lost it I saw him mask less dancing in a preview to the show. It's also part of the polygamous old style communities. The younger males, unless selected by the elders are literally shunned and run out of the community at the age they would start seeking a vocation, and then choosing a wife. Thus leaving the young women available,e to be 10th or 11th wife to the elders. Many stories of rescue shelters set up to recieve these cast outs in nearby cities to let the boys finish schooling, recover, and be safe as they decide their future. So I see Kody repeating those bigger cult customs on his own family scale. The daughters are too modern to want to stay in polygamy and attached to Kody.

He wanted Truely to feel betrayed by Christine. His younger kids knew already. He kept telling Christine not ready to tell her. He wanted her to find out by overhearing it or someone telling her. He mentioned the reason he has not been close with Christine is he hasn’t trusted her because years ago he heard a rumor thinking she was leaving and felt betrayed. Betrayed an odd word for an 11 year old to use by the way. Truely did say she felt betrayed she was last to know. Christine just said I didn’t know how to tell you. Wrong she wanted to tell her with Kody and didn’t feel she could tell without his okay. She didn’t seem to throw him under the bus. Robyn told Ari and Sol about it and they were interacting outside for the grad party. A 6 year old not moving to keep secret her 11 year old sister was moving? Christine told him too many knew and she didn’t want her to find out in a hurtful way. Kody wanted her to find out in a hurtful way and blame her mom for the pain. Thank goodness Christine heard the gasp and knew she overheard something. Could you imagine holding it in trying to process it without the adults knowing it was out? The accusation she is turning the older kids, her girls against him is the complete opposite with that stunt. I blame polygamy. He is stretched too thin. They don’t get enough of him. Too many caregivers. To much unfair treatment. It’s why it is not legal and they really need to prosecute again. The in equality in marriage, the inequality in the parenting. Why does Robyn have all the money. The legal marriage wasn’t supposed to mean anything expect make him able to adopt her kids. Another thing is what they pulled on her ex from a legal marriage. Men aren’t treated well says expert Kody. How was Robyn’s ex treated? I don’t understand how a 25% time father at best according to the way it was supposed to be is better than a 100% time bio original dad should something happen to Robyn, God Forbid. They didn’t move close to the ex like grown ups for her ex’e convenience. Good gosh.

The truth is that Cody is mad that a large part of his "family" has chosen other paths to pursue without his "consent." So to speak, he's losing control of his massive family. He likes to give the appearance of care and concern when really it's only ever been about control and dominance for Cody. He doesn't really care that these people are hurting, he cares because it makes him look bad. It's never about someone else's feelings with a narcissist. It's always about the Narcissist's feelings. He's downright devestated a huge chunk of his family but doesn't care. He only cares about how it makes him look.

I keep thinking about Janelle’s youngest daughter who lives with her. All of her siblings have moved out and she is not an adult yet or even like a senior in high-school. She’s in the trailer with Janelle. And Kody doesn’t even seem to mention her or think about seeing her (he sees Janelle and, presumably, the one remaining child who lives with her only every 3 to 4 days even though he doesn’t much see Christine and doesn’t see Merri at all so….shouldn’t he be spending 40% to 50% of his time there?

I was WAITING for this video!!!!!! Yes. PLEASE do 90 Day Fiancée. … I love the reviews that former participants do in the hour program too … Right on about everything. Angela Lansbury was in Gaslight - and I thought Kody was getting paid for how many times he could work that word INCORRECTLY into the interviews in last night’s episode. Also spot on …. She ‘wanted to be Mrs Brian what’s-His-Name’ so she’ll be submissive to him and they’ll have a marriage that works. Also could have talked about the whole custody thing … LOVE your take on Sister Wives. I’m sorry you have COVID. And we are entering another surge. I’m a DR of epidemiology and public health and masking in a controlled setting is so much safer than being in a crowded room with nobody wearing a mask IN TEXAS! Wishing you well. Thanks for the videos. I really do think about how you’re seeing the show as I watch it because I know we are thinking similar thoughts. Makes me chuckle.

No-one wanted to leave Las Vegas but kody and robyn. It effected most of them completely negatively. No-one is even still in flag staff but kody, Robyn and her kids. He threw away all his families to just have submissive Robyn to order around. I think she would actually leave as well. She is legally married to him so she can get money. Or if a better guy came along she would be out.

Thank you so much for doing these clips. I started watching Sister Wives at the very beginning. I was fascinated by women who could "share" a man and how that all works - because I know personally - I am too selfish. As this series has gone on - Kody has disturbed me more and more. At the beginning I thought man - this guy has a super sized ego. But now - he is an ugly human. The things that he say's about Christine because she had the "gall" to leave him just amazes me! I appreciate you psychological look at this. It provides great validation to those of us that are just stunned by his behavior. Come on Janelle! Get outta there girlfriend!

From reading about other polygamous families, there are MANY reports of physical and mental abuse of wives and children, and the majority of the husbands/patriarchs are very narcissistic. I think that is the way they cope with all of the demands on their time, their personal failures, and the way they justify having intimate relationships with multiple women. It is definitely not a healthy personality trait, but it is fed to them by their church's theocracy beginning when they are infants/preschoolers. Females are groomed to perform the tasks that enrich and improve the husband's life, but the males are lavished with praise about becoming a patriarch and being "in charge" of all the wives and children. Little is taught about romantic love, just that he will be the family leader and make decisions for them. The entire goal of their earthly life is to prepare for their Celestial Kingdom in the after life. They are required to have a minimum of 3 - 4 wives, depending on the branch of FLDS they belong to. Christine leaving Kody and the other sister wives places them in jeopardy of not entering the Celestial Kingdom, so it is more than just the end of a marriage/relationship. Christine is now the outcast. To save their place in the Celestial Kingdom, Kody may have to find more wives.

I have never had positive thoughts about Kody Brown. He appears self centered, selfish, and totally out of touch with his children, never mind every wife except Robin. She doesn’t appear very happy with him either. I think she may have gotten more than she bargained for in this aging buffoon.
