The greatest! I've watched these shows for 70 years, and they're still funny. I can't think of anything that can match them. The bare, stark set made it all about them and only them.

She Was As Close To Being A Perfect Counterpart To Jackie As Any Actor Working In 1955. Totally Agree. If I Had To Put Up The Top 100 Funniest Lines In The Original '39, Ralph Would Have 50 & Norton Would Have 20, & Alice Would Comprise The Remaining 30%. Trixie, Obviously Would Have Zero - Literally. I'd Have To Re-Adjust The Stats To Give Alice's Mom (Mrs. Gibson), Several Hysterical Moments Too! Glad You Enjoyed My Homage To Greatness...

Audrey Meadows was the best she was so pretty thank God she persisted with Jackie Gleason to get the part as Alice because he said she was too young and too pretty what she did was she got dressed up just the way you see her here and she went back into his office the next day and he said you're hired otherwise it would have never been the same with somebody else Audrey Meadows was the perfect choice and sometimes when they forgot their lines she would add lib and it would be perfect she turned out to be a real asset to the show I've been watching The Honeymooners since the 70s I used to watch it with my mother every night we would watch The Honeymooners and I still watch them so does my mother I've been watching them so long I can actually word for word say every line to every episode to Norton to Alice to Ralph one of the greatest shows ever Joyce Randolph perfect so beautiful she just passed away 2024 she was 99 they are all together again ❤❤❤😢😢😢

An old apartment like that, in the city? I beg to differ with you but you have to BATTLE to keep the dirt and grime out of a place like that just for starters. Plus, I think they used coal for heat - more grime. 4 hours a day is minimum. You should try it sometime.

THey did NOT 'steal' it Jackie was called in to ''okay' Fred's 'look' and Alan Reed as Fred's voice to mimic his voice and okay JP as 'WIlma' like ALice and Betty and Barney also! . It was planned and Jackie loved it! There are also cartoons form c.1960: "The Honeymousers" and they are hysterical and look like them as mice! With Norton and Trixie, too!
