From your yank counterpart (drummer as well)...started my apprenticeship under the watchful eye of Brian Bashall (R.I.P.) at Dunsfold L.R. in 1970. So your expert bodgery is particularly well done: in fact, it's F*****n' brilliant, mate ! I've built a few S.I.'s, the first at the yard in Dunsfold, in the mud, covered with leaves, replacing bearing shells in a quonset hut with a dirt floor, open at both ends, Surrey in the winter...paid my dues, oi. Kept my fingers clean, Landy ran after I put it together. First success at 18. Been hooked ever since. Thanks; new subscriber and grateful for it!

Series One, 1956: I've got an 86, 107 pick up and a 107 station wagon...so I bet that crazy old Land Rover bloke/friend of yours knew Brian Bashall as well: not even 2 degrees of separation here !

How did it pass the MOT without mudgaurds? When I was a MOT inspector in the early 1980’s any more than 50 mm of exposed tyre was a fail
@oakswamp2 жыл бұрын
mudguards are not included in mot unless fitted , as with speedo, windscreen wipers not needed if you can move the screen ....its mot free now anyway....👌
@richardhaywood41233 жыл бұрын
Does it not need mudguards to be road legal? Looks good!
@oakswamp3 жыл бұрын
yes it does , but not for an MOT
@hazzalandy3 жыл бұрын
I suppose a tyre isn't a sharp edge, so not something it can fail on

Mate only just found your build, great job on blending parts, making sh#t work together. By coincidence I have two 42 Chevy 1 1/2 ton ers striped down and two 2a landies in rebuild. You’ve made me consider blending them🤔
