The HORRIFIC Execution Of The GUILLOTINED Nun That Stood Up To Hitler

During the Second World War, there were many people who resisted the Nazis and Hitler. Those who defied the regime were often sentenced to death and thousands were executed on the guillotine inside of German prisons. One such woman who was executed was Maria Restituta Kafka, who stood up to the Nazis in Austria, and she was given plenty of chances to avoid the guillotine, but she stayed firm in her beliefs. Maria Restituta Kafka was a nun who also worked in a hospital as a nurse in Austria.
She was a very skilled woman, and was highly valued inside of the hospital but she placed crosses in every room which the Nazis hated. She was then later arrested and was placed on trial for treason. Shockingly the Nun was then sentenced to death, and she decided to face her execution rather than leave her church. She was taken into an execution chamber, where a guillotine was ready for her and shockingly Maria Restituta Kafka was executed in brutal fashion.

She reminds me of St. Maximillian Kolbe. He was a Polish Catholic priest living in Nazi occupied Poland and was sent to a Auschwitz camp when he also denied the Nazis. He's a martyr in the Catholic church for refusing to give up his faith and volunteering to die in place of another prisoner. RIP to Maria and Maximillian for their sacrifices in order to try and prevent injustice 🙏

The best-known resistance movement inside Germany was the White Rose, which consisted of twins, Hans and Sophie Scholl and a friend called Christoph Probst. They were students at Munich University and their resistance consisted of distributing leaflets to other which criticised Hitler. They were arrested and guillotined the same day. A film was made about them in 1982, called the White Rose.

It's so terrifying to see things like Hitler laughing and being human. I think that while we intellectually know that these terrible people were once ordinary, we still emotionally turn them into figures who are larger than life, which is a dangerous mental omission. Sadly, an example ,; a brave .and GOOD german , SOPHIE SCHOLL aged 21, was executed for standing up to Hitler.! Its that simple. ! Many millions of good people like her ,and her brother Hans , went that way too.

What I was querying is how the term 'proud' was attributed to these three rather ordinary, dull and dour men (looking nothing like Nazis) and whether Pierrepoint would have looked any different standing next to his scaffold. I visited Plotzenzee prison a few years ago. By then the guillotine had been removed, but not the hooks in the beam.The memory has stayed with me ever since. We must never forget.

I will be 75 years old in a couple months , Most of my uncles and my father were sent overseas during the second world war, I heard from some men the horrors that were inflicted on people . We had some education in school also BUT Considering the events of what is going on around the world today , I firmly believe that this should be compulsory taught in school today , a total and complete history of the atrocities of the past ! The young of today have NO IDEA that they may be headed for the same stuff the kids of the 40,s went through ! LEST WE FORGET!!!

There is one word for Schwester Maria Restituta: martyr. She faced certain death, yet continued her spiritual work to help others up until her execution. You have to admire that courage. She was eventually beatified by Pope St. John Paul II in 1998. A road near the hospital in Mödling (Landesklinikum Mödling), where she worked, was renamed Schwester-Maria-Restituta-Gasse. There is also a Stolperstein in her honour there (under her birth name Helene Kafka).

Yes Sister was very courageous and I believe she was canonized. You might want look up the 24 Sisters of theHoly Family of Nazareth,a Polish order that is international. The nazis took these good sisters into a woods and executed them by gunfire. They too are saints in the Church.

Not only are they not being taught, our American schools have become anti God! Look at the hospitals no more nuns! Why? Because government got involved in hospitals and schools! What does government do? They kill the people!!!! It what every government does. You remove God you remove guns then you kill the people. Our current government is for the criminal by the criminal. Nuns have a special place in the Catholic Church they are not like lay people because of their vows. They are regard as 'sacred' to God. It is a bad thing to kill a Catholic nun as no doubt these people found out. They are also obliged to put all others lives before theirs. All Catholics are taught this.
