@venomousfrog5546 Жыл бұрын
Part of the reason the Gravemind is so powerful in the Halo universe is because of it's origins as what ammounts to the Haloverse's "gods". It has intimate knowledge of the biology of its home universe, whilst it wouldn't have any such knowledge in a foreign universe (or when fighting something extrauniversal) and so the nervous system might not be as much of a vulnerability, at least not at first.
@goldendoomslayer6301 Жыл бұрын
@@venomousfrog5546 that's fair as it would have to learn an entirely new biology and again the warframes biology is extreme indeed but given the warframes inherent connection to the void and it being piloted by what amounts to a child that is seemingly possessed by an eldritch god on the level of cthulu and that warframes as a whole kinda throw all of physics out of the window on even a normal day i could see it being basically impossible for warframes to be corrupted. Now if the flood has reached the level that they are interacting with neural physics the frames wouldn't really be a threat but the tenno very likely would still be out of its reach.

@@RigoMonroy-vj1mt State my case? What do you mean? Are you aware of Halo lore and just how much superior the Flood is in it's ability to process knowledge and remember pretty much everything and it's ability to rapidly adapt and exponentially grow more powerful once it has access complete dominion over Neural physics and that they can assimilate the Halo equivalent of souls because the Forerunners tried to revive a infected subject and restore his or her's mind to a pre infected body with no Flood supercells present and yet the attempt completely failed and the subject was a Floodform again despite no Flood supercells within the subject's new body. The Gravemind is also a master manipulator and intelligent ruthless strategist as it constantly showed through it's war with the Forerunners and Ancient Humans. And unlike the Tyranids the Flood's simultaneous connection to all it's Flood forms does not break nor does it ever slow down like what can happen to the Tyranid Hivemind/Overmind where they can lose control of their bioforms as 40k has shown in specfic situations and conditions. You cannot cut off the Flood's constant connection and the Gravemind is able to process commanding all of them at the same time. And unlike the Tyranids the Gravemind develops and utilize complex strategies on many levels and layers and thinks extremely ahead of time before deploying it's forces. And it steals all traits and assets both biological and technological of it's assimilated victims much unlike the Tyranids who don't use technology and are extremely slow in it's pace. Once Keyminds are able to reality Warp and Neural physics become a thing the Flood reach a new tier of power that is realistically relatively impossible to stop or overcome. The Flood's ability to propagate and exponentially keep up and out think and out develop and become faster is simply far superior then the Tyranids ever were.

@thorshammer7883 Жыл бұрын
@@seekingabsolution1907 But the Tyranids are not as smart as the Flood and the Flood are extremely resourceful and have exponential growth and utilize their knowledge on all levels and scale and process information far quicker. They are not the type to throw most of everything they have into a single conflict without developing and producing extensive counter measures. They would find ways at how to prepare with the approaching Tendrils themselves and annihilate them. And if that means taking and comprehending hyper advance alien technologies they are going to do it. Add with the Flood's reality warping abilities they can gain once they enter the Keymind stage it becomes even greater for them to process information and gain vast qualities amounts of knowledge. They have time to prepare a entire infrastructure and developing newer and newer tactics for when the big ones arrive. Afterall this is how the Gravemind thrives in total war.

Honestly, everyone is always talking about how devastating spartan flood are, as if that matters. It doesn't matter if the flood infects toddlers, soldiers, spartans or literal trees (i know i know, nervous system, im just tryina make a point). The floods threat does not come from their individual combat capabilities at all. It comes from their sheer presence as a biological super computer. Their ability to coordinate against an enemy they intrinsically know, makes them as dangerous as they are. They have enough samples of every race to have incredibly precise predictive abilities. They can see the next 5000 steps you take before you even know yourself what situation you're in, simply because they think like you do. From an individual level all they way up to entire fleet maneuvers, the gravemind can predict everything and anything everywhere. He is playing 8d chess 10.000 steps ahead while we are trying to figure out how connect 4 works. This thing has literally just talked the most computationally complex super AI into submission. It has the knowledge and experience of TRILLIONS of beings, and an exponentially complex neural network to make use of it. There is nothing you can throw at it that it hasn't seen comming from miles away. The games struggle immensely with the floods lore (they literally outsmarted and outperformed anchient humans, who where the most advanced race to ever exist in the galaxy aside from the precursors themselves, yet lose to regular humans due to a massive mistake on the graveminds side, that is so incredibly stupid that even humans would absolutely not make it) The fact that humanity won in halo 3 is based on 2 massive plot holes, and the biggest plot armor in any game ever. Its like having an enemy that single handedly beats an entire army of fully geared navy seals, (flood - anchient human war), and then the same enemy loses to literal cavemen (flood - modern human war).

Humanity created something they thought was a "cure" and used it seemingly to some effect on the flood, leaving the forerunners wondering what their supposed cure was. But this was all actually just the flood leaving Humanity alone to trick the forerunners into thinking there actually was a potential cure, so they'd waste time and resources trying to find it. The flood, being precursor in origin, still had plans for humanity. It's implied that humanity will take the mantle of responsibility only after beating a massive flood outbreak that has yet to happen.

Individuals, maybe. But their intelligence doesn't come from individual forms. They are all but expendable since they have trillions of combat forms. The controller of them all is the gravemind, so even if you could poison one of them, or a group, it would hardly matter since they would just be replaced. I even doubt poisoning them makes much sense, since they do not act themselves. If you destroy their brains, the gravemind might not care at all and still controll them. Idk how he controls them and if the brain is nessesary. Id argue not since you can shoot their heads off and they still walk and fight. What's important is their pod form or the super cells, which make up the entire body.

Actually everything infected by the flood remains alive, Jankens was just the only person able to temporarily regain control of his body

You um. You messed up the terminology with the juggernaut. Firstly that’s now a “pure form” as in pure flood biomass and a “keymind” is not the first form it’s the final form. As in the culmination of an entire planet’s biomass

The biggest issue with the Flood is... It's physically impossible for changes to occur in a multicellular organism as big as even humans. This isn't theoretical, it's PHYSICALLY impossible. Material transfers within the human body, an amalgamation of cells specifically evolved to work together, takes time. Anything hijacking that system, even if it's as seemingly ruthless and intelligent as the Flood, isn't going to be able to make rapid changes like that. It's going to take time, especially if we're dealing with the laws of biology (for instance, the laws of material diffusion, 2x the distance takes, I believe, 4x as much time). Even then, the amount of energy required to make rapid form changes like that is... Well, if we could harness it in the form of electricity, one pure form changing could probably power an entire electrical grid, it takes that much energy. Watching these just makes me find the halo universe hard to believe, as terrifying as the Flood is. It's just... Not believable. Even cordiceps (sp?) takes time to make the changes it does, and that's in an ANT! The Flood could not change humans that quick. It doesn't matter who or what the flood used to be, it can't do it.

That's a significant misunderstanding of the Flood. It rips cells apart at the molecular level to build more Flood cells. It's more like a factory operating at lightning speed than a biological infection. The Flood are avatars of eternal constants, and infect space-time itself, changing the laws of reality, not merely "infecting" organisms. That's why it's able to do what it does so quickly.

Lets say there's another gravemind on the other side of the galaxy on it's own, would it combat the opposite gravemind? Like how keyes became a proto gravemind ect
@JohnG44 Жыл бұрын
Highly doubt it they are the same mind still
@lennardchurch8483 Жыл бұрын
The same entity that occupied the Primordial also occupies the forms of every Gravemind, so they're never at odds with each other.

There's actually a lore scenario when a spartan is infected by the flood, it's called CORRUPTER. An infected spartan is so fu*king dangerous the protocol dictates all unsc assets NEED to leave the battlefield and nuke the entire area from orbit.
