The Horror of Boggart Bridge. Towneley Park. Burnley.

A boggart is a creature from folklore, most used a few centuries ago, and today, better known by other names including pixie, fairy, troll, Goblin and more.
Burnley seems to have its fair share of Boggart tales of the past, but one once terrified the locals at a bridge in Towneley Park, refusing travellers access unless they gave it a gift.
Today the bridge is still known as Boggart Bridge, and this is the story of how the local people got their revenge on it.......

I was in the Black Country for a while and heard many stories from workers, all them about Goblins and that sort of thing. England is full of mysteries and interesting stories

Interesting Matt. Have you heard of the Bee Hole Boggart from Burnley? A woman known as Old Bet was snatched and killed by the Boggart and he hung her skin on a rose bush. If you believe such things. Bit harsh wasn’t he 😮

Not heard of that one, but have a 'map' of Boggarts in Burnley, so it might be there...that one sounds horrific....I like it 😅
