I absolutely love the extra scenes in this! We get to know what happened to Henry and Duncan with their 1020 encounters, plus the alternate scenes with James becoming a runaway not because of the trucks but because of a mind controlled worker setting his brakes off, not only that but 1020's changed monologue adds so much more sympathy to his cause. The animation is also really good too! Loved the changes in style when it came to reference the older series Outstanding work to everyone and Happy Halloween!

i love how parts were redone or added in, this is magnificent. I love the cameos of the consists/references/tie ins from Gordon & the Gremlin, Percy's Seaside Trip, double teething troubles, etc etc. I'm only 30 minutes in and I love it.

I like that during James's flashbacks the aspect ratio changes. Even adding in the old VHS static as a transition. I should also give the change in sound effects from post season 1 changing to season 1 sound effects a mention during flashback scenes. Adds a bit more aesthetic to them.

The additions improved the series by a lot. Definitely the best way to watch it now. One thing I'm kinda curious about is if Hawin never told anyone about the points, then how did Dane know it was him? He probably could've guessed, but it still seems weird.

I absolutely LOVE this project, it was incredible for the initial release and it’s still amazing now, the reshot scenes are also fantastic, it really ties the whole project together nicely This project has to be one of the greatest pieces of spooky Thomas fiction simply due to the fact that you struck the perfect balance of spooks, scares and horror themes, without it being over the top and edgy like some projects have been in this fandom, nothing too over the top, just a spirit looking for their revenge, it feels so well executed I also still love how this completely re contextualises almost all of the events of season 5 into being something scary, it’s the greatest strength of your writing and it’s a major part of why I think you have the perfect balance, you reworked what you had and managed to make it genuinely chilling Speaking of which, the piece that plays at 1:18:57 still gives me chills even to this day, I don’t know if it’s to do with the context or the sound design, but it is truly spine tingling stuff If there’s one thing I still don’t fully understand, it’s this: What was Rusty afraid of? Because the context makes it feel like it’s meant to be the boulder, but there’s something about it that just doesn’t click when I think about it, combined with the line at 1:30:41 and it just feels like I’m missing something whenever I try to work out what it is Rusty fears most, I’ve been thinking about it since the initial release of the finale and it just feels like I’m missing something whenever I think of what Rusty fears You’ve left me absolutely chilled once again, I can’t wait to see if you have any other projects to come out in the future

Rusty’s fear is the destruction of the railway that they work every day to maintain. Boulder is the ultimate force of nature and that scares Rusty more than anything. Think back to Special Funnel - Rusty knows about and fears the destructive power of nature, specifically water.

TEARS HAVE BEEN SHED I really didn’t expect to cry at all especially since I’ve seen this before but having to go through it all at once and with a more cohesive look because of the renewed look throughout really made this an experience to remember. I was able to connect a lot more things and understand things better with this rewatch. I am pleasantly surprised to find this isn't just the 5 parts stitched together, but rather the 5 parts reworked into a complete cinematic film with extra bits and alternate scenes to tie them all together. Things like showing the possessed stationmaster sending Hawin out into the fog and the workman turning James into the runaway instead of the trucks were excellent and I loved that Henry and Duncan's 1020 encounters were explored a bit more too. And I *LOVE* the edited dialogue of 1020 during Rusty's encounter. Before, he was cryptic and that was the point. Now I feel this edited dialogue explains things a bit more for those who watched the original Part 4 and wondered what this guy's motive was for haunting the engines. It was admittedly rather hard to follow, so this version clears things up quite a bit without being obvious. I noticed that several scenes have been omitted like the scenes of Edward and Rusty each meeting Hawin and Bailey. Edward I can understand since you brought in the extra scene of Edward acknowledging Bailey after telling his story, but not seeing Rusty meeting them now feels a little off since now it's not explained how he got roped into all this. Even so, I hope that you'll keep all the videos up, both the original 5 parts and this one, as having 2 "versions" of the same tale are really great to have for comparison sake and for slightly different viewing experiences. It's like jumping into the adventure all over again. I still have 2 questions though: 1. During Hawin's confrontation with 1020, he said he could have stopped at the buffers if Hawin had warned him. I didn't see any buffers involved during the accident. What was that about? And since we're on the subject of the accident, we see two different versions of 1020's crash. Was the first one simply Hawin's altered version that he told everyone to cover up what really happened? 2. Rusty concludes that 1020 is connected to the lake, but how did he figure that out? He says he learned this when 1020 got into his head, but I didn't see the lake in his crazy nightmare sequence. A great element for sure, as 1020 perished in the lake, so his spirit is latched to it, but how did Rusty piece that together? Unless Rusty was referring to his FIRST encounter with 1020 when he learned 1020's resting place was the lake. But I thought "when he was in my head" referred to his encounter in this video. That aside, this was another chilling treat to feast on!

As eerie as this video was, it actually makes a lot of sense. With all how the stories connected throughout the Thomas & Friends franchise I firmly believe this could be why all the craziest accidents happened on the Island of Sodor. Old Bailey, Edward, Rusty and Harwin are the protectors of the island, and are certainly the wisest group. Which is why all the engines on the Island went to them for guidance. I do wish Harwin was really part of the franchise this would have made the stories so much better.

It’s more of a foreshadowing cameo as Lady is a sort of God in my canon and Dane/Hawin both eventually meet her on the Magic Railroad when they have passed on. Not sure if I’ll expand on this but yeah!!

Why was the scene at the end of the Chilling Cutting dropped, it leads to a slight continuity issue as we never see james meet Hawin despite mentioning seeing him (granted it can be assumed that happened off-screen but is a strange choice to cut nonetheless)? Same question for the scenes with Edward and Hawin from Invisible Engine

The post-credits scenes were sort of intended to fill gaps between the uploads but I felt that they slowed the pace of the full project when put together, especially the Part III one - for that one especially I sort of re-establish that Edward has met Hawin long before the events of the film with the extra bits added at Kirk Ronan. Decided to have the very talented 84F Studios re-narrate all of the character lines for continuity. Matt did a fantastic job for the first few parts before I knew exactly where I was going to take the series, but when I started moving away from the more TVS-style narrator-focused writing format I felt that we needed an adjustment. 1020 is everything. He is a spirit who can travel via the water. Any kind of water (rain, fog, snow) can be a conduit for him.

The owl is just foreshadowing. Almost like Dane’s spirit uses memorable imagery from his death like the trucks at the station or the owl in the tree to scare his victims as those were some of the last things he heard/saw.

I loved the series as a whole, like seperate episodes, but always felt like this was needed. It makes it more cohesive and understandable for the audience when it's all together and shows how everything naturually progresses. However, I still see a few things of issue with this series and specifically the videos. 1. The audio quality is still spotty in some areas of the video. Whenever Dane/1020 speaks in the later half, he is too quiet to understand what is being said. I understand that it is meant to be creepy and erie, which is nice, but not being able to understand him undermines his speeches. 2. I never understood Dane's/1020's rage towards the other engines. I can understand why he would be against Hawin, as he "caused" the accident by not telling anyone about the damaged bit of track. However, to torture other engines who had nothing to do with it is very silly to write in. I can see him being upset that they are trying to reopen the line, but once they leave, they should be immune to his wrath and power. He should not be able to control things which have nothing to do with his resting place. 3. On the previous note, Hawin didn't tell anyone about the track, but Dane's/1020's breaks were the real cause of all of this and he should have blammed whoever did not repair him. His anger is so misguided, which can be a real thing, but to direct it to where Hawin must sacrifice themselves for no reason is such a weak point of this story. I love how the others are effecting in unique ways for how their character is, but Dane and Hawin's relationship is really weak in this rendition. 4. Finally, where is the unique soundtrack that was made for the other episodes? I loved the music made for James' parts, but either barely heard it over the speech or was completely removed it seems like. It's very sad to make all the music, release them on the channel, then remove them in a compilation feature episode. Again, I loved watching the old videos, even if they had some of the same issues. The quality is great and the story can be appreciated when Dane and Hawin are not present, as it connects events already in the cannon. I just feel as if the story always needed more oomph.
