honestly that last part of sweet to bite and the fact that it just came out last year… it’s very terrifier like, I wouldn’t be surprised if the author was inspired by the sequel of that franchise

Oh, I absolutely was paying homage to Terrifier, to Wes Cravens New Nightmare, and to Halloween (2018) - I almost called the fic Something Sweet to Bite (2023)

Where an insane unicorn kidnapped her back when Pegasus, Unicorns, and Earth Ponies were slowly getting on good terms?You know racial/class discrimination like the ACTUAL candy man movie?

I am so glad someone finally made a deep dive on the entire Something Sweet to Bite series!!! I like them and I really have been hoping someone would make a deep dive into the whole thing, so I'm glad to see this!!! I will say that from what I've looked into, Kackerman did say Something Sweet to Bite: A New Generation. But even so, the possibility of him making another one wouldn't shock me. Still, this was a really good watch!!!

And then they had the children eat it :(. I'm unsure about yall, but If I noticed the candied remains of a freakish, cannibalistic, cenobite -like, murder horse slowly try to stitch its body back together again, I wouldn't be too keen on eating the stuff tbh :P. Reminds me of an old movie called "The Stuff" where they eat this sentient ice cream thing that destroys you from the inside out and takes over your body (some freaky stuff if you ask me). I haven't finished this video but I do want to say I enjoyed your deep dive on the muffins saga. Which led me to a dumb (but fun) question - whos winning in a fight? The canon pie family (Pinkie, Marble, Limestone, and Maud) vs Their muffins counterparts (or just the entirety of The Bakers). My money would be on the canon pie family winning 9 times out of 10 rematches, simply just denying and ignoring any form of plot armor their counterparts may have. @@TheWildCard which makes it even more funnier because I’m 100% confident that a canon Sweetie Belle could beat all of the Bakers at once. Which is very depressingly funny when you consider all the crazy things the bakers have done in the saga. One could only imagine the horror on their faces when they see their metal tools casually break on contact trying to pierce an elementary schooler. I think about power-scaling questions from time to time but can you blame me? FiM’s universe is freakishly strong and for no reason at all lol.

Surely the canon pie family, in most grimdarks characters are often nerfed which is why antagonists wins so easily, muffins is a good example.

@@beeruslemaridena6167 yup, wouldn’t be much of a story if there weren’t any nerfs. Wouldn’t be much of a grimdark either. The only thing I would say is that antagonists like The Bakers should be fairly, narratively, balanced. They are serial killers not supervillains but yet they’re written like they’re on the same power and influence as Tirek, Cozy, and Chrysalis aka Forces of Nature. Even iconic horror slashers, as overpowered as they are, can be defeated from time to time.

I was hoping you would do a video on this series at some point! This is probably my favorite horror fanfic based around My Little Pony, feeling so creative, demented, and a weird but loving homage to 80s horror. Ill never get over the fact that this man cane up with this story after getting a rather nasty mosquito bite and watching the wound puss and scab up. I immediately loved the Sage when I discovered it a few months ago, mainly because it has a lot of good elements that are often missing in Grimdarks stories, like an original antagonist we actually get to know through backstory and development, characters actually fight back instead of standing there like idiots, every kill is unique and very gruesome. I often read bad criticism like "Candy Mare is a Mary-Sue" but I disagree because she somehow loses every time she's outsmarted, now it's true the stories are long but I'd say Knackerman just wanted to expand his universe as much as possible. Overall, for the characters, lore, creativity, world-building, I give "Something Sweet to Bite" a solid 8/10!

I'm honestly really glad people are still passionate about fanfic in the Pony fandom. I was absent from MLP stuff for several years, but last year after rereading Cupcakes and seeing who made a modified horse toy into the Candy Mare I read the entire series. I really prefer the earlier entries compared to the last few, as Candy Mare was made so powerful that literally nothing can stop her. I was hoping each story would have to invent a new way to keep her sealed away, but making homage to bad slasher sequels is alright too.
