While Jack grew up in the Virginia Beach area, I (Alice) grew up right outside Roanoke, Virginia. I have been to the Hotel Roanoke many times for events... but we have never stayed there. So it was interesting to see the room and parts of the grounds that I haven't seen before. I love that there is a walkway to the downtown area to be able to easily explore that area. Thanks for sharing this tour and review!

Roanoke is great! And the hotel was super nice and the price for the room was shockingly low compared to a lot of other places we have stayed at!

Make sure you go back around Christmas Time. Its a big thing for the town there. The hotel sets up Christmas trees and Christmas decor all around the hotel. And latterly anyone from driving distance to the hotel comes to take their Christmas Family photos their. Plus the Regency Room Dining experience on the weekends I heard was nice. Oh one last thing on the weekends they have live music in the dining room.

At one time the (beautiful) lobby bar was the “writing room” with fine desks, chairs, and hotel stationary. Southern motifs (painted on plaster I think) are still hidden behind the decorative grids on the walls.
