Going back in August so great to catch up on the development of the area and in particular the works being done near the harbour, was reading yesterday it’s been 42 degrees + recently

Sort of. It's actually closer to 30 but with a "feels like" of 10 degrees hotter. If that makes sense. But it is also 30+ at 10PM.
