Rachel’s energy this whole live show cracked me up 😂 I love that she just unapologetically loves what she wants and hope she didn’t leave too sad at the end with a lot of people not liking it hahah

Rachel was ON FIRE and I looooved it! 😆 I also really enjoyed this one. Looking back, all the Riley Sagers are a little ridiculous - but I just look forward to them every summer. They’re like candy for your mind. I try not to predict anything, shut my brain off and just enjoy the ride. I want to see his take on dark academia next!

Missed the live but enjoyed the replay. Y’all are so cute! I was enjoying this book until about 60% in. The paranormal twist is kind of far fetched but I was shook by Len being the killer of the girls. I gave this 3 stars. Looking forward to this months book pick.

I read a ton of thrillers and I also gave this 4 stars 😂, definitely liked it more than Survive the Night. I just loved the isolation and bleakness of the setting.

The reason I liked this book of Sager's more than his others,is because he went full supernatural

I didn’t read the book but listening to all your reviews, it think it reminds me of a wannabe Behind Her Eyes by Sarah Pinborough 🌚

I gave the book a 4.5/5 star rating. SPOILERS FOR THE END OF THE BOOK! As far as the "Tom Twist," I think the reason Sager included it was as an homage to Alfred Hitchcock's film: Rear Window (they even mention the movie when Casey talks about going to the movie theater with Len in an early flashback). The entire read, for me, was incredibly reminiscent of Hitchcock's film (one of my favorites), and there were certain scenes that were almost a frame-by-frame: When Casey goes over to Tom's house and Boone is watching her through binoculars across the lake; When Casey and Boone discuss Tom's suspicious behavior for the first time with Wilma; The romance brewing between Casey and Boone; etc. This scene at the end, with Tom, only completes this homage because, in the film, the neighbor from across the quad is in our main character's apartment trying to kill him for what he knows. I'm not saying it was a necessary element for the plot, but I do think it was a nice touch that added a little Easter egg for the Hitchcock fans. I feel like this book is what I WANTED The Woman in the Window to be by AJ Finn, which also claimed to be an homage to Rear Window.

Just in case it wasn't mentioned, another man did die in the lake a while back. They mentioned it at the beginning of the book. He knew Casey's mom. So in theory his soul is also down there

*SPOILERS* I think people are being too hard on this book and overlooking what it actually did. It did play into overused tropes, but it used what you (the reader) assumed about those tropes against you. It basically used every trope on purpose: -The unreliable narrator: Casey's drinking. -An 'I know who did it' message: the post card -The 'the husband did it': Len -The chaotic/complicated family relationship: fame/esent for her mother. -The sexy suspicious man with the mysterious background: Boone -Hearing a scream: Katherine's -Is it really paranormal?: Yes. It finally is. -Withheld information: Len is a killer, Casey killed Len. -Someone not being who you think they are: Katherine was Len -The killer comes back: Len came back in Tom -The foreshadowed prophecy: The story about the lake. -The narrator being dismissed/inserting self: Wilma -The narrator being right all along: Tom was trying to kill Katherine. -An unfulfilled ending: Did Boone kill his wife? -The last minute realization: The wine glass/poison -Last minute super human strength/convenient weapon: The wine bottle to kill Tom It was essentially 3 books in one. -A domestic, unreliable narrator, 'rearwindow' spying book. -A serial killer, murder mystery, the narrator knows more then the reader book. -A paranormal, possession, that's not who you think it is book. It's The Girl on the Train, The Woman in the Window, and Behind her Eyes all in one! With a little 'The Staircase' ruminating fuel. You didn't even know what Thriller genre you were reading; romance, mystery, detective, famous, psychological, supernatural, domestic..Because you were reading all of them. It told 3 familiar, predictable stories at once, which was just enough to prevent you from seeing anything coming. And the part at the end talking about how ridiculous the headlines would be, was making fun of its self for doing too much.

It felt like Wilma had a thing for Boone. She was way too involved in his personal life for just a coworker, so I thought it was going to come out that she killed Boones wife. Guess I was wrong. 😝

I missed the live show but I gave it a 4 star but a star was knocked off cause of the ending. I also hated Tom like what was the point of him lmao. I did enjoy it but I don’t think it’ll make my top 10 books for 2022 though ! So many other thrillers I’ve loved more like the book of cold cases by Simone st James
