One additional benefit, and it’s non-trivial, is the reduction of smoke pollution from cooking. This causes a great deal of health problems

It’s a research test solution, if they can prove that the solution actually works then more research and development will take place to begin real deployment. That’s the time for local materials and cost reductions. First find a solution before you start fine tuning, a rule for many things in life and one every engineer must learn.

Not one bit of insulation and a tin roof?
@bobedgar66472 жыл бұрын
This is the tropics, there’s no need for insulation because the temperature is never (very rarely) extreme. In this climate, air conditioning would be the reason to insulate, but not for housing at our current technology and energy levels.

@@bobedgar6647 i’m, you are dead wrong. it’s scorching hot in these homes and the humidity at night is unbearable. ac is a must. i live in TZ right now. NO WAY A NIGHT WITHOUT AC, or fans during the day. Hempcrete and rammed earth with foam placement are needed. i’m in talks with Ecohomes now, one of the partners in this collab to see about instituting some new sustainable methods

@@criticalnurse-ready8705 not true, the issue is being cold at night. Day time it is quite nice up there compared to its surroundings. I have slept in this house many times so, I'm afraid you can't argue with me :)
