Say whatever you want of the PC and Sega Saturn port in terms of graphics, but the gameplay is WAY BETTER than the remake: and I even dare to say it´s exactly the same as the arcade version, minus the pistols of course and the reason is in the remake, some enemies as the Samson (the fat zombie with chainsaw), the Gillmore (the tall zombie with sledgehammer that appears in third stage) and the Simon (the "macho" type zombie) are so overfast and closer than the mentioned ports that a quick shot in the head is almost impossible in some cases and avoiding damage is virtually impossible, at the opposite of the arcade, SS and PC ports which the difficult is more balanced, not mention in the remake the enemies are bugged: sometimes you blow the head, but they are still attacking and even leaves you bite markings! WTF!? And don´t make talk about the freezing and crash issue I have so far with the Steam version (at least graphically looks better than the switch version). I hope the developers take notes from the issues of the remake and get better for the announced remake of HOD2.

Yeah the remake was flawed. Its because they lost the game original source code and had to make everything from scratch. That's why its not 1:1 remake

@@Bos_Meong In fact, I still remember when THOD2 Dreamcast port was announced, there were plans to include the first game as a bonus. However, due the original code was lost, the first THOD as bonus was scrapped. Still, I think the developers of the remake could polish the game, A LOT, though I think the reason of such flaws were, among any others, the pandemic that reduced the time and resources to get an improved product.

This...THIS is House of The Dead! Not that fucking piece of shite that calls itself a "Remake". I don't care that Sega lost the source code, or any other bullshit excuse, the remake is fucking garbage. Seriously, I enjoyed watching this video because it shows how even the PC version - which while not being the best version of House of The Dead (the Arcade version takes that honour) - it still pisses all over that remake trash. I'm tired of people saying "ah but you know the developers had to work from scratch", they fucked up remake and people are happy to fork over cash for an inferior unplayable version that lags and freezes. However, this was great to watch, it brings back so many memories and hours spent blasting the fuck out of zombies, with the shitty voice acting, the re-re-re-re-reload sound, the tunes, oh my god the fucking soundtrack to this game is fucking beautiful. Kudos for taking the left-handed route near the end of Stage 3, not many people take that route (or indeed know of that route), to be fair the part with the 3 heavy zombies with barrels that then rush you is cheap as fuck, but the original House of The Dead was a coin-op determined to bankrupt, so it gets a pass!
