I have been looking for this movie for years and never even thought to look on KZbin! This was one of my mom's favorite Christmas movies and I really enjoyed watching it. Only thing that could have made it nicer is if Mom was still here to watch it with me. I sure miss her.

I have been looking for this also, saw in 72 when I was 11, a few years ago. About to watch it now, looking forward to it very much!

In 72 I was almost 8 yrs old when I saw this movie. They only showed it one other year that I remember. Have been wanting to see it again since it was one of my favorite Christmas movies. It brought back many memories watching it just now 😊

My grandma loved this and I used to watch it with her when it was shown. She’s gone and I miss those days.

I saw this film when it first aired. I also remember a time when my mother wanted a real tree and dad said we'd probably have to put up a fake tree. So, one day after school, I walked up to the hardware store and bought a real tree at their lot. I carried all the way down the busy tree going home (no one seemed to notice me!) and it was in the living room waiting to be decorated when they got home from work. I remember it like it was yesterday, but it was the posting of this film that jogged my memory.

You're welcome! I'm 60 and I don't remember ever having seen this as a child but when I discovered the DVD I fell in love with it - a very underappreciated program.

@@genesmiley9866it wasn’t under appreciated when it was first aired, and for about five Christmases afterward. After that, the network stopped showing it. I watched it as a kid close to Addie’s age when it was first shown and for the five or so years they repeated it. I was deeply taken by it. I would not see it again until it came out on VHS in the 1980s. I bought it on DVD, when VHS became obsolete. I will never forget showing it to my son when he was about 8 or so, and his bursting into tears when Addie left the tree on Gloria’s doorstep. He felt so touched by that scene. They don’t make films like this anymore, sadly. It was so well done, and deeply moving.

@@Aroseisarose15The part that got me is when he holds his arm when he first sees the tree.....like he's shivering. That moment has stuck in my mind for over 50 years now. Really put a lump in my throat as a kid.

@@3dsmaxrocks699 I know what you mean. There are so many scenes in this film that just stay with you. Also, in that same scene, when he has screamed at his mother and she goes right back at him, he opens up about the resentment he felt when his wife died and he admits that he was so grief stricken that he had thought why didn’t the baby die instead, which was a profound and terrible memory he had. As he walks to go to his room, he grabs his mother’s hand briefly before he goes into the kitchen. He was so broken in that moment, and you could forgive him somehow for admitting those painful feelings - because he had spoken them. And when he sees the tree and recognizes the star at Gloria’s house, I never forgot the look on his face.

A fun Christmas film....I'm glad that other films were made describing the nostalgic adventures of Addie Mills and her friends spanning from December of 1946 to February of 1949.

Love this. Watch every year. And I watched the first year it aired. It wasn’t until later that I wondered why did this house have only one bedroom? When James was a boy did he sleep in the attic?

Anybody remember a TV movie or maybe it was a show where a kid walks up a cliff kinda thingy and talks to God or talked to some other kid who was in heaven?? Edit. Found it. The Littlest Angel. Used to be on every Xmas time from 70 to 75 I think

Johnny Whittaker was the Littlest Angel. Now I have to watch that this weekend. Thank you for reminding us of that old movie.
