This is a classic example of a stuck up RTE presenter, comfortable in his "premium" position on the only channel in the country, McAnally (a failed musician, the worst kind), unable to converse respectfully with a working class band from the North East of England. McAnally trying to "slag them off" to appear cool and "with it" comes across as an arrogant, vain, condescending tone deaf snob. He's still at RTE to this day. Says it all really about the nepotism in that organisation.

RTE is an abysmal excuse for a TV station....presenters are fucking hacks especially when tasked with interviewing real talent from overseas...

So good to just listen to open conversations about anything, without seeing people getting offended like they do today, or feeling like you can't talk about this or that topic. Man I miss these 80s days.

The days when the guest sat there and listened to the interviewer stroke their own ego. Na you're alright!

well done for generaalising every conversation that takes place.. nothing you state has any credibility

Paul Heaton’s songwriting improved quickly and dramatically when he broke up The Housemartins.

Heaton & Abbot @ St. Annes recently was the best gig I have seen in a long time! Shtars all of them!

I was at that gig in The Olympic Ballroom.. Great gig. Got to see Paul play an intimate gig in Cavan Townhall a few years ago, another great gig.

They dumped the ugly one before their second album, bur they then made the fatal mistake of replacing him with a bloke that was better-looking than the rest of them put together.

Wise decision. Hugh Whittaker’s a wrong’un. His slapped-arse countenance looks more fitting on the bloke working the deep fat at the local fish ‘n’ chips...a deadweight who was doing the band no good commercially....pub-quality drummer...not meant for the big leagues, I mean look whose sitting beside him....oh and did I forget to add that he almost killed a guy with an axe? Dave Hemingway actually went on to form Beautiful South with Paul...so not a bad investment in the end...

If looks is the main thing, then watch some botox infected, talentless run of the mill artists and turn down the volume. That doesn't require much brain activity, neither.
