They had propably the worst offseason in the League by giving out the 2 worst contracts that were signed in the nba this offseason. You do not want almost untradeable veteran contracts in a rebuidling team.

Surprising take. The Rockets had the worst off-season in the league in my book, Brooks and VanFleet are both complimentary pieces for a contender and just do not at all fit in this rebuild. Overpaying them as extremely as the Rockets did, they are also going to be basically untradeable contracts. I do not see them higher than 14th in the west and would not be surprised for them to finish last.

Cam whitmore going to take over starting spot from Dillon Brooks , Thompson twin may get Green traded and Jabari will have a breakout year because signs from summer league indicates he’s a far better player now . I’m a Laker fan but I love hoops so I can see the Rockets being a really great team in a few years. I’m so mad Lakers didn’t draft Whitmore because he’s going to be a star . I do that Green is overrated and I look for Rockets to trade him at the deadline

so who in the west are the Rockets better than? Spurs, Blazers, Jazz maybe. They are definitely not better than the Nuggets, Suns, Kings, Lakers, Grizzlies or Warriors I would argue that the Wolves, Clippers, and Thunder are better as well. So that leaves the Pels and Mavs. For all the problems the Mavs have I'm pretty sure they're talented enough to at least scrape into the playins. Pels are interesting because they're definitely better on paper but injuries always take their toll. So where do the Rockets fit in all this? A starting lineup of FVV, Green, a rookie Amen Thompson/worst offensive player Dillon Brooks, Jabari, Sengun isn't inspiring, especially since there's 2 chuckers in the backcourt taking away touches from the more talented players in the frontcourt (3 if Brooks plays - yikes). Bench is KPJ (another chucker), the other of Thompson/Brooks (I expect it to be Thompson since there's no way the Rockets spent 22 mil a year on a guy for him to be their 2nd or 3rd guy off the bench), and then a bunch of power forwards (Whitmore, Jeff Green, Jae'Sean Tate, Tari Eason) and Jock Londale. The roster is too deep for its own good. Rockets spent a bunch of money and got a mess of a roster. Hopefully their guys develop. I say 12th in the West, 13th if the Jazz don't believe in tanking.

It's hard to say right now, we will need to see how the new chemistry comes together. With that, they were ordered to tank last few seasons so we really don't know how good they are yet.

Van Fleet gonna have a hard time getting open looks with no Paskal or Barnes to feed him open 3's, so i peg him for 30% from 3 next year. Brooks is a scrub and will only shoot you out of games. You just put together the best chance to get you a #1-4 pick in next years draft. They are not better than ANY team in the west, im sorry but the truth hurts. Keep drafting top picks and pray you get a generational player that is a superstar which Houston has 0 of those.
