Was it an arcade game? Was it an amusement ride? Yes.
The Space Probe by Saker One was a spherical arcade game cabinet which hovered (or, floated) on a stream of air while the player controlled the rotation from their seat inside the sphere.
Players would strap into the cockpit style seat, and take control of this novelty style video game. It didn't last all that long, but what an amazing piece of arcade / amusement history.

Man I love Time Traveler. They had a cabinet at the airport in the late 90s I would play it so much while waiting for my Dads arrival from business trips !

The Saker One Space Probe you show in the video was NOT the one at WEM. The one you show is the earlier version. Eventually the company made a model where the ball you are in flies up in a tube over 20ft high and you float at the top. THAT was the one at WEM. You should fix the video so it gives the true story.

If there was any footage or pictures, I'd love to have shown it. But in the end, it really doesn't change a whole lot of the story.... other than, "It's a bit taller than what you see here."
