Poker is gambling, but not AGAINST THE HOUSE. It also has a higher skill cap than most gambling, so if you're good at it you can semi-reliably make money. Gambling AGAINST THE HOUSE (slot machines, roulette, blackjack, etc) is always rigged against you. Any way you might come up with to tip the scales in your favor (such as counting cards) is considered "cheating."

actually you're right, but the house takes some money from all the players, so it's not really fair statistically (obviously if you just play with your friends and not in a poker house or a casino you're right, since there's no house to gain anything)
