The victims would die from poop aspiration because they can't vomit, cough or sneeze anymore (these reflexes are important for the protection of the lungs). In other words they would inhale poop sooner or later. If they didn't die from asphyxiation (which is most likely), having poop in their lungs would lead to a massive inflammation, pneumonia and sepsis. They would never survive long enough to die from malnutrition.

MieCherrie yeah I’d I also recommend SpookyRice, but I’d also add a word of caution: he does break it down well and do warn about the worst scenes, often partially censoring it or at most completely excluding it. However, his series is called “disturbing breakdowns” for a reason. You may still see things that you can not un-see. I stumbled across his channel by coincidence and I like him, but some of the things I’ve seen even from that had me so that I had to take a break from horror and watch happy-go-lucky stuff to purge my mind because HOLY F*CK! And that’s not a comment on him, he’s the one that makes me able to watch his breakdowns to begin with. And love the credit he gives to the character Jennifer Hill of “I spit on your grave”. A movie I wouldn’t rewatch bc it f*cked me up (both original and remake) but that girl really went brutal in her revenge.

Seppuku (or Harakuri) is a way for warriors to kill themselves while retaining their honor. The decapitation allows the soul to transcend to the spirit realm at peace. He, however, killed himself in a “dishonorable” way to show the fact that he feels as though he deserves this. I also noticed the heavy amount of white in the scene. I know the film has so much white in it, but white clothing was worn during Seppuku to show purity and honor. However there is another form of suicide performed by those trying to restore their honor (almost always a wife, widow, or female in general). They would tie their knees together (similarly to how the centipede victims lack knee function) and then slice the throat to promote a quick death to avoid capture. Regardless, it was my favorite scene in the movie and pinpoints how much I like the character.

I've only seen the first Human Centipede movie. It isn't THAT bad as everyone says. Nothing is more terrifying than the concept itself: a group of people surgically stitched together mouth to ass. If anything, the most horrifying thing about this movie, in my opinion, is the atmosphere and suspense. Seeing our main characters trying and failing to call for help and failing to escape the house is legitimately scary. It takes itself seriously whereas the next 2 movies do not and I think it helps the movie because it makes the movie that more scarier and thought-provoking, asking the question "What would you do in a situation like this?" I personally like the South Park parody, the Human Cent-iPad, a lot better.

The suspense is also very different on rewatch. The first time you watch it you feel anxious and want these people to escape this horrible fate. But the second time you watch it it turns into dread because you know now that 2 of the victims don't make it out and the last one is left to suffer this fate worse than death which is now even cranked up to 12. The agony of the victims and the hopelessness of their situation is so scary.

I remember a review for this movie saying something along the lines of "it's satire but it doesn't seem to know what it's satirizing" and I really think that hits the nail on the head. When you start looking at the subtext it's just a jumble of partially formed and very disparate ideas. That's the thing that bugs me the most about this movie: it had so much potential to be one of the great horror films but instead of good writing they just went for shock value. Plus, when you hold this film up against 2 and 3 it becomes painfully clear that the satire is merely an excuse to go all out on shock value. Which is why I believe this movie perfectly exemplifies why the horror genre has so much trouble being taken seriously.

I really appreciate this episode. It makes me feel like I could actually watch this movie. Body horror is a really iffy thing for me because it often overlaps with s*xual violence. Knowing that that’s not really an issue is very reassuring. I’ve always felt like this movie is a form of “required” viewing for horror fans so I wanted to watch it but didn’t want to get into something that would be too intense.

I really enjoyed the first movie, because it was such a horrific situation that those people found themselves in, and Dieter played the doctor so well! Unfortunately I felt 2 and 3 were just created for the shock and seeing how disgusting they could make it, especially the woman and baby in the car scene. I would have preferred either a sequel showing Lindsey recovering from her ordeal or a prequel showing the doctor originally dreaming up his idea and trying to bring it to life.
@oxygen_proxide448 Жыл бұрын
I think the doctor scene you’re talking about happens in the third one at the very end it shows him walking up like all three movies were a dream and he looks out his window getting ready to put it into action. I liked how all three movies tied into each other. I also like human centipede because of the horrifying body horror that these poor people have to try to survive through and watching in despair as they don’t. The doctor was played so extremely well I genuinely was edged out by how eerie he was to create his human triplet

The trilogy RANKED Human Centipede: About a 6/10 for scares. A solid 4/10 for the scar factor. Just be kinda scared to walk home alone. Human Centipede 2: A 9/10 for scares. A 10/10 for the scar factor. Be prepared to never want to leave your door unlocked at night. Human Centipede The Final Sequence: A 4/10 for scares. A 6/10 for scars. Just don't get locked up and you'll be good. Be prepared to see some balls getting cut off. In short, the first ones fine, the second is a hellspawn and the third one is kinda boring unless you've committed some crimes and you're a dude.
@slava70915 жыл бұрын
I like how the three movies are in themselves a human(movie)centipede - by the main protagonist of the second and third parts watching the immediately preceding actual movie(s) which inspire them to make their own centipedes (which would also imply a somewhat self-ironic view on their own movies).
