I’ll be forever salty that Shelley Duval got a Razzie (and so much more flack) for her performance in the Shining. She SOLD the horror of that movie, it wouldn’t be the same without her.

I understand not liking her, because she is pretty annoying, but there's two things to keep in mind. One, it's part of the character. Two, you have to pin most of that on Kubrick. He destroyed her.

So a lot of people had to think she was the worst for her to be nominated the first place. Same for Kubrick which… dude sounds like a monster to work for, but his movies in general and the Shining also are largely considered some of the best.

I was always terrified of horror movies, but James and Chelsea adding in humor and background made everything better for me. Fun fact: Earlier this year, the Razzies rescinded Shelley Duvall's nomination because they took into account what Kubrick did to her. That was nice of them.
