I like how Joel quickly puts up this wall when he refers to Ellie as "Cargo" and then we slowly see that wall coming down when he finally starts laughing at her jokes. The back and forth between these two really makes the bonding element click.

Thank you for reacting to this even though you are not going to have the first few episodes. It’s honestly been one of the best TV shows I’ve ever seen. The villain in this and Ep 5 is kind of terrifying because of how sweet she seems when she talks, and also because you can sympathize with her. If you haven’t discovered it already, there’s a podcast with Troy Baker (the VA for Joel in the game), Neil Druckman (the creator of the game and co-creator on this show) and one other co-creator where they discuss why they made the changes they did from the game. It’s really incredible and I night reccommend it. It’s just called The Last Of Us and it’s an official HBO podcast.
