We have nesting hummingbirds every year in our wisteria bush, she usually has 4 tiny little eggs, my German shepherd actually sits for hours guarding that bush he won't let even one bird near it but the hummingbird parents , don't ask me why he's took such a interest in their baby birds , I guess John is their guardian angel 😇

This was so fun to watch! You found the perfect bird bath for the hummers. I have 2 bb's with bubblers in them. Sometimes I think the water is more important than food for our feathered friends ❤❤❤

That's VERY cool !! Especially for the hummingbirds but I am trying to figure out how the bath is supported. I can't see anything definitive as to the means to which the bath is supported . Anyway I can see that the little creatures are thoroughly enjoying the fountain and the bath , BRAVO !! 😊

Thank you. The bath is supported by a 5 foot, 3/4 inch copper pipe that is buried in the ground.

I'm happy that you like the bird bath. I made the bowl out of glass that was slumped into a ball mould from Bullseye Glass. I drilled a hole in the bottom of the bowl and mounted it on a 3/4" copper pipe. I used parts from the drip irrigation system sold at Home Depot. I will be selling these but to be honest the cost of making these is high thus the price will be higher than I would like. You could make one if you know someone who has a glass kiln.

I'm not sure what you are asking me Penelope. Every summer I feed lots of humming birds and some of them like to play in the bird baths that I keep in my garden.

I can see why one might be concerned but apparently Hummingbirds are buoyant or at least are able to hover above the water. That particular birdbath broke due to a hard freeze a few winters ago so I'll make another one that is not so deep.

Wonderful. The fountain makes this so special to the hummers. Wherever did you find this birdbath? I've seen hummingbirds fly through the spray of lawn sprinklers in Colorado and California.
