This is why I couldn't get behind their relationship. It never seemed like more than a survival technique. At least with Gail they were friends for years. I think the love story was secondary to Katniss' place and identity in that messed up world so it made perfect sense to me - Peeta to her became a symbol of hope and goodness while Gale turned into a symbol of war and destruction. The book explained it a lot better. In the books, I was rooting for Peeta. In the movies, I was rooting for Gale. I don't think I ever got over them casting an extremely short actor to play Peeta. So damn distracting to me. Josh H and Jennifer Lawrence had no chemistry at all.
@birdmcturd16263 жыл бұрын
@@ericsloss3963 I never rooted for Peeta because the moment he was introduced I knew he’d be a love interest. @ilincabogza4 жыл бұрын
@@janusceasar7851 yeah in the book it doesn't have the same peacefull feel to it. Katniss is locked up and atempts suicide. She was suicidal and going insane so she paid almost no attention to what is going on. That means she didnt really have a perspective on what was going on wich didn't allow us to see the chaos. It is sure that powerful people in that climate like plurtach and haymitch had to clean that mess up but we don't see exactly what happened. While kantiss is reluctant to judge what is going on the elected president seems to be someone more believable to do good. Katniss is still reluctant to believe any good can happen for the most part so tge ending is a little bittersweet

You meant that the Hunger games stretched 3 books into 4 movies. Technically the first 2 books were each a movie and only the last book was stretched two movies, just like Harry Potter... well no not just like Harry Potter because it was completely justified for Harry Potter because of how long the book was and how much content was in it that would have sucked to remove so much of it to fit into just 1 movie. While the hunger games was absolutely 100% a cash grab, as the book was as thin as a DVD case, there was no excuse to make the 3rd book into two movies (other than to make more money)... they could have easily easily kept the last book to 1 movie.

@afifhizami9004 жыл бұрын
The more correct answer is becAUSE.
@ilincabogza4 жыл бұрын
Ok i know this might be obnoxious but i have two theories: one - we can see that while peeta is brainwashed he is also overal unhiged, and even if he only goes of when it comes to katniss, he is still for the most part visibly deranged, wich takes months of work to lessen. Then, the brainwashing works only for making the human be deeply scared of even the mention of a thing, wich sends them into frenzy, wich only seeming deranged. It would only work with a smaller dose of venom, but then again the comviction behind that subject would lessen too. Why does the way the would come off matter? Beacause they are already the symbol. If people can tell that those words aren't geniune they wouldn't be able to control or influence the masses. Second- they need their submission shown in another way. They parade them around the districts for a preventive way to subside the rioting, but they need more then just to dominate katniss and peeta. They are already the symbol, and people already where waiting for a spark to flare up the rebelion. Them being quiet wouln't stop it. So they needed to make their defeat crushing, to erase all types of hope, for it to be a punnishment, a lesson. Basically the whole point of them being sent back in the arena was to show the people that they can never will. That way it's far morr valuable and more impactfull. They want them dead and for them to be once again a symbol, this time one of doomed try and of what happens when you resist to the Capitol. That's why they "saved them up" for those games. And why they saw that as the impirtant thing. Of course, they didn't forsee the ending of that try....

At least Marvel and Star Wars movies don't tend to finish on cliffhangers. Even though they're part of a larger narrative, each film is resolved. For example, if Infinity War ended with Thanos arriving in Wakanda, that would be equivalent. However, he gets the stones and completes his quest, that's the resolution. If anything, the 2nd Hobbit film is the best equivalent example. The resolution of the 2nd film was the start of the 3rd film.
@joshuapray4 жыл бұрын
Star Wars didn't do that, though. Haven't seen all the Marvel films so I can't speak to that. As the comment above me says, the Hobbit most certainly did.

No they explain everything happening in between in the books. How Katniss was under house arrest for days and weeks and months. Then Haymitch gets her and explains what happened after she killed Coin. Then they tell us about their life with Peeta. Only then it jumps into a mother. But tbh we didn't need to hear all details about they getting closer, her pregnancy etc. I think it was a good ending. In the movie it was incredible fast tho...
@empirestate8791 Жыл бұрын
@@sangriad.938that makes more sense. In the movies, she’s literally sent home immediately after she kills Coin, and like 2 minutes later we see her and Peet’s living happily ever after. They should have at least shown more of the world’s reaction to Coin’s assassination, the new government taking over, and Katniss settling into her new life. And the epilogue could have been a couple minutes longer.
