To answer that, let me ask you: can you spend at least 10h a day meditate, 8h for learning, eat only one meal, sleep 2h, max 4h, while keeping 227 rules that people like us will think that better to be a stone than a monk...and there you'll see it yourself why we should utmostly respect a monk regardless of their age, that is no matter. They are in extreme determination to be freed from this painful style of living and after that, their mission is helping stupids like me and you out of it. The very first lession is "respect", when you know how to respect someone especially monks, you will keep your ego small, the less ego you have, the more intelectual you become. Sorry for my bad English though.
@dragoncatoverload
@dragoncatoverload 2 жыл бұрын
@@NHGeneral oh no, it makes sense it’s just the specificity that’s funny. Like most the time, religion is more equalitarian? At least in theory. For example, the punishment for murdering a monk or priest isn’t any different than murdering anyone else in the Christian faith because murder is bad, period. Doesn’t matter who you kill, you committed a horrible sin. So to have specific punishments dolled out for targeting a very specific group of people said group of which catalog all these punishments in the first place, there’s a bit of ironic humor there. Like in practice it makes sense cause targeting a monk is way more malicious than targeting anyone else but still.

The punishment of the shape-shifting ghost is that everytime she changes form to trick a person, she falls into love with him/her, tries to improve herself but she eventually gets betrayed badly just like how she betrayed her suitors when she was alive. To be heartbroken for eternity is her punishment. She lives an insecure life cause mirrors can show her true form, heat of altars can burn her spells and dogs start barking at her even if she disguises into anything.

@raphaelcarvalhobezerra6913
@raphaelcarvalhobezerra6913 2 жыл бұрын
@@TopHatFox well, Karma is a bitch. You would probably be reborn as another animal because you may have not paid enough Karma. Animals and humans have little differences, tho. Humans can do stuff more easily, like communicating, dialoguing, exchanging and comprehending the Dharma, which are things that are very hard to animals. It is easier to achieve enlightenment as a human than as a Deva, Asura, Animal, Ghost or Hellish Being, because the Devas have too confortable lives, they are afraid to lose it all. The Asuras are to envious of the Devas and too egotistical to thrive in enlightenment. Ghosts are to greedy and hungry. The Hellish Beings suffer too much to care enough for other beings. The animals just have difficulty learning, not only because they are "dummer" but because their enviroment is harder than humans. Mercy is rare among the beasts.
@commentnahipadhaikar2339
@commentnahipadhaikar2339 2 жыл бұрын
@@TopHatFox Well, it depends on your Karma. It can be that you have to born hundreds of lives as animal, then born as human again. It is only human who can commit good deeds, not even devatas, the highest above all can do that. That's why human birth is considered lucky in Hinduism, Buddhism and Jainism because you can attain Nirvana or Moksha in Human form only. That's why in Hindu, Buddhist and Jain lores, even Devas(roughly translated as God like beings, but not like God in Christianity and Islam) bow down in front of enlightened humans!

Interesting to know about the Hungry Ghosts of Buddhism, in my case I would probably become a ghost with mighty powers due that in the past I had experienced some events of my life in wish I had taken the advantage of some situations in which it involved others. Although I do wish to forget that and follow a proper path, it is my great uncertainty to know if one or more situations like these will present themselves again in my life in the future. But as I see it in my personal perspective I have more affiliations of becoming a male Onryō (Vengeful Ghost) because I have tendencies to sometimes be in a very bad mood or angry to the point of hating all the people around me and even the world itself.

Thats totally not fair. I think the punishment for abusing your power, and then having demons being tortured around you, is especially not enough of a punishment because the type of person who would do that in the first place is probably a psychopath that just doesn't care about others regardless. Its not a penalty that would actually get to them. Not everyone feels sympathy or shame. Otherwise I think religious punishments almost always go completely overboard and are often way more severe than the actual crime

Ngl I'm pretty sure we're in the rehlm of the hungry ghosts rn. I think of Buddhist reincation as devorced from time and so time periods and realities are where we go and we've created a greedy hellscape for ourselves by making everything cost money and plenty to go around but still many are forced to starve and die

@@user-Void-Star exactly, I see it true God/Buddhahood takes place near the beginning of time and near the end of time and on higher dimensions than the 4 we are used to as humans, animal existing simultaneously as long as life exists so new souls may enter and evolve, "humanity" probably was around up until the middle ages and industrial revolution (with the beginning of those being minor hells where those who created the suffering incarnate as those they made suffer until it is balanced out, ie those who can choose to make the world better and progress it as best they can until it happens) then post industrial but not yet "Asura"/demi-godhood being hungry ghosts as the only thing holding us back is greed, then true hells being timeliness where we destroy ourselves in nuclear war or times of decline that lead to mass suffering (like ww1 and 2) and colonial eras. I also see different societies being in different stages at multiple times because after all karma is just cause and effect, and by being in the universe you are the entire universe and it is beyond our comprehension either always or at least now, but as long as existance "exists" karma happens but can only be changed by the free will of "intelligence" which is where humanity is, but only humanity can create heaven and hell so it is up to us to shed our karma with wisdom and free will as best we can, by letting go of attachments, assisting others and living the middle path so we can enjoy as much time in Asura and true Heaven as possible and through bodhizattva incarnations to cleanse ourselves of karma from demigod and Buddhahood and to help others achieve enlightenment and remember that we are all the universe experiencing itself as our current form and we will die and rejoin infinitely hopefully creating as close to infinite unconditional love and support accross all conscious incarnations. I hope that makes sense, I want to make a video about it soon. "Quantum Buddhism and the cycle(s) of Samsara" or something like that :)

@@user-Void-Star I get most of my ideas about karma from this video kzbin.info/www/bejne/eqPIoZufnM6cmKM along with my own personal experience and love of learning about science and quantum mechanics and breaking from linear time, I believe in "many world's" in that there are infinite timelines and just as we are a simple piece of the universal puzzle but also the while thing as a result, we exist in a similar unity/duality across different universes and time lines. I also see no reason why one may incarnate only on earth outside of us being individual pieces of the soul of earth and other life harboring planets being the same thing but I have no evidence for or against it, yet potential arguments for both 😂 lol anyway love and light, keep moving forward in love and without attachment, as long as we try our best, that's all that can be asked or expected of us after all ☺️ 🧡💚💜

@@smileyp4535 Buddhist cosmology goes like this when the universe started it was in 8 hot hell States and later cooled down and stars formed and life began to form and in that stage, Hungry ghosts formed ( microbes ). And later some families of hungry ghost evolved into animals and one family of animals evolved into humanoid and then slowly human evolved into two categories one is Asura and one is Deva and then many time passes and all the stars in the universe dies and then 8 cold hell began then many time passes and then a new universe start again.

@@user-Void-Star ahh that makes a lot of sense, so what stage would you say we are in now? Again I understand that it is fractalized in that is different for every individual and even groups of individuals but I understand that we are on the cusp of demigodhood (at least potentially if humanity's greed doesn't drag it back down to a hell of rhelm of its own making shortly before going extinct on earth) do you make videos or are you an experienced in Buddhist cosmology? Would you like to do a podcast on my channel with me about it? If i am not really wrong, Hungry Ghosts Realm are called PRETA in our Hindu Literatures written in sanskrit and while it may not add much their realm and their name is kinda more similar to a ghoul and a vampire, they are however reffered to as hungry ghosts because both term not being accurate but it would be good to know a Preta in its core is essentially a nocturnal creature forever bound to he thirsty for blood, similar to vampire.

HOW TO AVOID BEING ONE... A segment from 'Saved by the Light of the Buddha Within'... My new understandings of what many call 'God -The Holy Spirit' - resulting from some of the extraordinary ongoing after-effects relating to my NDE... Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what some scientists are now referring to as the unified field of consciousnesses. In other words, it’s the essence of all existence and non-existence - the ultimate creative force behind planets, stars, nebulae, people, animals, trees, fish, birds, and all phenomena, manifest or latent. All matter and intelligence are simply waves or ripples manifesting to and from this core source. Consciousness (enlightenment) is itself the actual creator of everything that exists now, ever existed in the past, or will exist in the future - right down to the minutest particles of dust - each being an individual ripple or wave. The big difference between chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo and most other conventional prayers is that instead of depending on a ‘middleman’ to connect us to our state of inner enlightenment, we’re able to do it ourselves. That’s because chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo allows us to tap directly into our enlightened state by way of this self-produced sound vibration. ‘Who or What Is God?’ If we compare the concept of God being a separate entity that is forever watching down on us, to the teachings of Nichiren, it makes more sense to me that the true omnipotence, omniscience and omnipresence of what most people perceive to be God, is the fantastic state of enlightenment that exists within each of us. Some say that God is an entity that’s beyond physical matter - I think that the vast amount of information continuously being conveyed via electromagnetic waves in today’s world gives us proof of how an invisible state of God could indeed exist. For example, it’s now widely known that specific data relayed by way of electromagnetic waves has the potential to help bring about extraordinary and powerful effects - including an instant global awareness of something or a mass emotional reaction. It’s also common knowledge that these invisible waves can easily be used to detonate a bomb or to enable NASA to control the movements of a robot as far away as the Moon or Mars - none of which is possible without a receiver to decode the information that’s being transmitted. Without the receiver, the data would remain impotent. In a very similar way, we need to have our own ‘receiver’ switched on so that we can activate a clear and precise understanding of our own life, all other life and what everything else in existence is. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day helps us to achieve this because it allows us to reach the core of our enlightenment and keep it switched on. That’s because Myoho-Renge-Kyo represents the identity of what scientists now refer to as the unified field of consciousnesses. To break it down - Myoho represents the Law of manifestation and latency (Nature) and consists of two alternating states. For example, the state of Myo is where everything in life that’s not obvious to us exists - including our stored memories when we’re not thinking about them - our hidden potential and inner emotions whenever they’re dormant - our desires, our fears, our wisdom, happiness, karma - and more importantly, our enlightenment. The other state, ho, is where everything in Life exists whenever it becomes evident to us, such as when a thought pops up from within our memory - whenever we experience or express our emotions - or whenever a good or bad cause manifests as an effect from our karma. When anything becomes apparent, it merely means that it’s come out of the state of Myo (dormancy/latency) and into a state of ho (manifestation). It’s the difference between consciousness and unconsciousness, being awake or asleep, or knowing and not knowing. The second law - Renge - Ren meaning cause and ge meaning effect, governs and controls the functions of Myoho - these two laws of Myoho and Renge, not only function together simultaneously but also underlies all spiritual and physical existence. The final and third part of the tri-combination - Kyo, is the Law that allows Myoho to integrate with Renge - or vice versa. It’s the great, invisible thread of energy that fuses and connects all Life and matter - as well as the past, present and future. It’s also sometimes termed the Universal Law of Communication - perhaps it could even be compared with the string theory that many scientists now suspect exists. Just as the cells in our body, our thoughts, feelings and everything else is continually fluctuating within us - all that exists in the world around us and beyond is also in a constant state of flux - constantly controlled by these three fundamental laws. In fact, more things are going back and forth between the two states of Myo and ho in a single moment than it would ever be possible to calculate or describe. And it doesn’t matter how big or small, famous or trivial anything or anyone may appear to be, everything that’s ever existed in the past, exists now or will exist in the future, exists only because of the workings of the Laws ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ - the basis of the four fundamental forces, and if they didn’t function, neither we nor anything else could go on existing. That’s because all forms of existence, including the seasons, day, night, birth, death and so on, are moving forward in an ongoing flow of continuation - rhythmically reverting back and forth between the two fundamental states of Myo and ho in absolute accordance with Renge - and by way of Kyo. Even stars are dying and being reborn under the workings of what the combination ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’ represents. Nam, or Namu - which mean the same thing, are vibrational passwords or keys that allow us to reach deep into our life and fuse with or become one with ‘Myoho-Renge-Kyo’. On a more personal level, nothing ever happens by chance or coincidence, it’s the causes that we’ve made in our past, or are presently making, that determine how these laws function uniquely in each of our lives - as well as the environment from moment to moment. By facing east, in harmony with the direction that the Earth is spinning, and chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo for a minimum of, let’s say, ten minutes daily to start with, any of us can experience actual proof of its positive effects in our lives - even if it only makes us feel good on the inside, there will be a definite positive effect. That’s because we’re able to pierce through the thickest layers of our karma and activate our inherent Buddha Nature (our enlightened state). By so doing, we’re then able to bring forth the wisdom and good fortune that we need to challenge, overcome and change our adverse circumstances - turn them into positive ones - or manifest and gain even greater fulfilment in our daily lives from our accumulated good karma. This also allows us to bring forth the wisdom that can free us from the ignorance and stupidity that’s preventing us from accepting and being proud of the person that we indeed are - regardless of our race, colour, gender or sexuality. We’re also able to see and understand our circumstances and the environment far more clearly, as well as attract and connect with any needed external beneficial forces and situations. As I’ve already mentioned, everything is subject to the law of Cause and Effect - the ‘actual-proof-strength’ resulting from chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo always depends on our determination, sincerity and dedication. For example, the levels of difference could be compared to making a sound on a piano, creating a melody, producing a great song, and so on. Something else that’s very important to always respect and acknowledge is that the Law (or if you prefer God) is in everyone and everything. NB: There are frightening and disturbing sounds, and there are tranquil and relaxing sounds. It’s the emotional result of any noise or sound that can trigger off a mood or even instantly change one. When chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo each day, we are producing a sound vibration that’s the password to our true inner-self - this soon becomes apparent when you start reassessing your views on various things - such as your fears and desires etc. The best way to get the desired result when chanting is not to view things conventionally - rather than reaching out to an external source, we need to reach into our own lives and bring our needs and desires to fruition from within - including the good fortune and strength to achieve any help that we may need. Chanting Nam-Myoho-Renge-Kyo also reaches out externally and draws us towards, or draws towards us, what we need to make us happy from our environment. For example, it helps us to be in the right place at the right time - to make better choices and decisions and so forth. We need to think of it as a seed within us that we’re watering and bringing sunshine to for it to grow, blossom and bring forth fruit or flowers. It’s also important to understand that everything we need in life, including the answer to every question and the potential to achieve every dream, already exists within us.

I've been a Nichiren Buddhist for 24 years. This explanation of the 6 worlds comes from old traditions. The Buddhist monk Tendai (T’ien-t’ai, 6th century, China) wrote in his treatise Great Concentration and Insight that all of those worlds are not worlds where you go to live in the next life, but actual states of life inherent in every living being, and are 10 instead of 6. I'll try to explain them in short 1.- hell is the suffering one passes through 2.- hunger is greed 3.- animality is ruled by instincts and lack of reasoning Those are the 3 evil paths. 4.- asura is the manifestation of anger and arrogance 5.- Humanity is when one try to achieve better control and calm of one's life 6.- Heaven (also called ecstasy) is temporal happiness. Both humanity and Heaven are very fragile and tend to direct to the 4 lower life states. This are the 6 worlds where most people live on a cicle. 7.- Learning is the world of voice-hearers that want to learn and uphold the teachings of Buddha 8.- Realization (Pratyekabuddha, also called "Opening of the Eyes) are those that realise the law of causality and want to free themselves from the suffering of the 6 worlds (the first 6) 9.- Boddhisatva. A state characterised by compassion, where one seeks enlightenment and help others to attain it. 10.- Buddhahood (Buddha) is enlightenment by realising the true aspect of all phenomena. A Buddha is not a God, or a superior being, but someone who has realised the truth and shows boundless wisdom, courage and compassion. This states are not like a ladder or a mountain one has to climb to reach the next level. They each contain the other 9, and the dominant state is the one that we call Ichinen (State of life), and together with the 10 factors (Lotus Sutra, chapter 2) and the 3 realms of existence becomes Ichinen Sanzen (3000 realms in a moment of life). A Buddha can still suffer (hell) or feel anger (asura), but the higher dominant state of life transforms them, for example suffering becomes a source of empathy and compassion. What this teaching has in common with the video is that if a person dies in a certain state of life will be reborn in that same state, because when one is dead lacks the ability to change causes (law of cause and effect, what most people know as karma) or the state of life. Sorry for the long comment, is not easy to explain this in short, and this is a very short barebones explanation.

Ever-changing and altering states of being is what is essential in the scheme of things and so redemption is more attainable once you have been reborn as a Hungry Ghost, so it isn't actually like being in limbo where you are reliant on the prayers of others, I suppose you reform your behaviour and so you are still required to be self aware and need to follow the 8-fold path to be reborn into another state of existence.
