Little Error at 11:55 Escort Detection Chart. The Modifier is only +2. One for Close Range (after firing) and one for Firing Fwd+Aft (1st Round only). Night Surface Attack Modifier comes first into play at 1941. Before that the Escorts had no Radar (etc.) to detect U-Boats on the surface and the only change to spot a Boat was a lookout. At Night this was nearly impossible because of the small silhouette.

How do you launch torpedoes with a damaged door? Should have attempted repairs before 2nd attack.

"Bay of Biscay" probably only applies after the Fall of France and you're using French U-Boat bases.

Did you later determine whether to use the Bay of Biscay track for the initial and final moves for your U-Boat? Or is the Transit track used for that? I've ordered the game (and The Hunted, its sequel) from GMT and am looking forward to beginning some patrols.

It's been a while, but I think you don't use the Bay of Biscay track for certain turns, including the ones I was playing in this video.

Without having the rules, I came to the conclusion (after asking) that you probably do use the Bay of Biscay tracks for those parts of the patrol identified as such. The Transit track has an unescorted ship on a roll of 12, and it seemed unlikely to me that the Allies would send a target to the enemy's known sub base. Additionally, the Bay of Biscay track has one extra aircraft patrol, which seems right to me. I'll see if the Third Edition rules clarify this! I enjoyed this First Patrol, BTW. Thanks!

I have the definitive answer: Rule #7.3.6 states that after a certain date in 1940, use the Bay of Biscay track. Before that use the Transit track. This reflects the installation of naval bases after the fall of France. You were correct.
