My Father is the guy at 6:08 when Andy is talking to the woman in the courtroom (the one looking at them talk not dude with glasses). My Dad owned the Seafare restaurant on the OBX during the 70s-90s and it was a popular buffet style restaurant known for their rum rolls, she crab soup and all you could eat king and snow crab legs! He passed away in 1994 from a massive heart attack but his legacy lives on in all our hearts. Andy Griffith was one of his all time fav actors and he loved Matlock, so the fact he got to be an extra in this scene and included in the actual cut of the episode made his whole dream come true in a way. I miss him everyday and wish he was still here but hey thanks for making my day with this clip of this episode. I've been trying to find it since I was 12 years old and I'm 34 now. TY so much! 👍🙏

I remember watching this one as a kid when it first aired to kick off one of the seasons, my dad recorded it on a VHS tape and I've seen it many times (not to mention all the times I've caught it on tv reruns), grew up about an hour and a half from the OBX and loved seeing and hearing so many familiar places in this episode....Elizabethan Gardens, Lost Colony theater, downtown Manteo where you see the brown sign for Hwy 400, the Burnside sign, mention of Roanoke Island, Nags Head, Whalebone, Mother Vineyard Road (actually just saw a 10-15 minute video on the keepers of the actual Mother Vineyard on Our State on UNC-TV/PBS-NC last week), and the actual Dare Co. courthouse and airport, and hearing a little bit of the 'high tide/hoi toide' brogue from a couple of the locals
