Interesting, according to IMDB, it was Ron Howard, not the actor who played Ernest T Bass, who Frances Bavier turned away with Andy Griffith at her door in N C. That, plus if Ron Howard hated anyone, it really was never disclosed, as if anything...he learned quite a bit from all the adult cast members, as well as behind the scenes. Quite frankly, I'm surprised they didn't give him an "honorary" directorship role in that series, just to give him a taste of what it was like then. We know he has a great lineup of works today, though.

Imo there are many life lessons in the Andy of Mayberry Show. The relationships and how Andy dealt with those relationships provide much to learn from. @@TheClimberbob1 The interesting thing I've noticed watching reruns of "Andy..." recently that I haven't seen since I was in grade school is that within the humor and "aw, shucks" country boy mannerisms the character of sheriff Taylor has much we can learn from and benefit from today. He never escalates a dispute. He knows his neighbors as people. He looks for creative win/win solutions and succeeds in making them happen. And he's a patient loving father to Opie. Family. Community. Justice. Living by the golden rule. Being of service to others. And a pretty good guitar picker, too. It's not that life is all that complicated today. It's that we seem to be oblivious to how we're all in various ways making life harder, less secure, more lonely and isolated for ourselves and each other than it has to be. "The kingdom of heaven is at hand." That's what Christ said about life on earth 2,000 years ago. It still is. We're all holding it in our hands right now, this very moment, and have been every moment for literally centuries. The only thing holding us back is us.

there is no possible way hatred, meanness, attitudes ever continuing in the way of this group going with the force of 249 episodes strong. Besides that really was a golden era of life. Things new, simpler and people were grounded in caring close family and religious beliefs. From the times then to now would wake the dead but they said no they will just stay there, huh Barney.

FYI, The “Heartland” of the U.S. is usually understood to be the Midwestern states. North Carolina is definitely not in the “heartland”. 😂

When they discovered Andy’s progressive political views a lot of people started rumors about him that cast and production crews have denied. He could be really serious when filming and he had a drinking problem but he was known to be funny and polite as well.

Two pictures of Griffith and are girl referred to as Aneta Corseaut are actually not Aneta but another actress who guest starred in one episode as an attractive aquaintance of Aunt Bee who becomes quite close to Andy , much to Helen's ire.

Not an 'acquantice,' of Aunt Bea. A bff's daughter Aunt Bea considered her niece.

Frances Bavier also played in movies, & one that I saw was Jack the Ripper starring Jack Palance as the culprit. She played a wife who along with her husband who allowed him room & board with them, not knowing they were harboring a murdered.

How reliable was it, though?
@LarryGross-zl4bf Жыл бұрын
This script has no flow, just facts jammed together. In fact, it goes over twice the story that in the opening credits, 6 year old Ron Howard couldn't reliably throw a stone far enough into the water. So, a guy hidden in the bushes threw one in at the same time Ron threw. But why tell this twice? Indicates sloppy production.

Reiteration is required because today’s views have severely limited attention spans.

I use to wish there was a town like Mulberry where one can meet "down to earth folks." However, it was a make-believe town but how we wished we had people in our town that were like these people? LOL

This channel is notoriously problematic with incorrectly titling their ledes for shock and interest, only to disappoint viewers with false information, which never explains the lede. AKA a lying lede or MISINFORMATION.

@@theresa6465 Thank you! I worked as a journalist on a large metropolitan daily for years, and never knew this. I wrote ledes time and again always thinking them to be spelled differently! Now I'm 81, but I'm very pleased to still learn something very interesting!!

@@PaulMackSomers I always appreciate learning something new too. The more I learn, sometimes the more humbly ignorant it makes me feel, but it never daunts me. It actually spurs me on. They don't mention the bigger spin-off show of "Gomer Pyle USMC". That show worked with the military to show the Marines in a good light while keeping the over the top humour.
