The 7Hz Timeless is a planar magnetic IEM that people are going crazy over. I can understand why but at the same time, I don't quite get it.

I have one and it still sees a fairly amount of use, no QC problems whatsoever to this day and it's my to-go IEM while i'm not at home. My first impressions of the Timeless were "holy crap, bass!" which I wasn't expecting from a planar at all. Then, the TOTL separation was the first thing that caught my attention. It's really that good. The resolution and level of detail is also worthy of being TOTL, since there's not a single thing that goes unnoticed in a track with these. It's a safe choice and ridiculously cheap for what it can offer. Personally, I have no complaints.

One of the most hyped iems I've seen, it started a few months ago then multiple reviewers all start mentioning it. The buzz seems unnatural and leading up to 11/11 is very convenient. I would not touch this until it has been out at least 4 months, if it is good it will still be good in a few months time, why rush? Just see how things unfold. You will be able to tell when people have fallen for hype when they're angry at any negativity about it.

7hz timeless are very tricky iem, to enjoy this iem to the best is : 1. Changer stock cable to penon Pac480 2. Change the eartips to the one that boost more bass, i use the stock and it feel very good 3. 7hz is not the deep fit iem,use the medium to large eartips. Although the comfort is not the best,but the detail,clarity,sub bass,mid and treble will be tuned to the best harmony with these tips,hope u guys enjoy it as I do.

i am looking between these and the hana 2021 , i like balanced tuning with good extended highs and balanced mid range and bass also kind of balanced , big fan of very open stage and precise imaging (kind of like that 3d holographic feeling a lot of people talk about ) i am not looking to buy another iem for at least an year so anyone who has experience with both these or any other dynamic driver set (not into multi ba sets) let me know

Happy New Year, wish you the best!💫Thanks a lot for all your reviews, they're really honest, professional, and awesome! Keep it up! If you don't mind I have a couple of questions. How do these iems reproduce vocals? I'll explain. I used Dan Clark Aeon 2 closed-back headphones so the voices sounded like a step or two behind you and it was a problem to me cause I prefer vocals one or two steps in front. So what about 7hz Timeless? Because I listen to a lot of KZbin, podcasts, and tv shows so my main priority is to hear natural, clear, warm, well-articulated, and pleasant voices without any sibilance. Would you tell me please which Moondrop Kato or 7hz Timeless is my cup of tea? Or maybe there is something better? Budget is not a problem up to $500. Thanks!

So I’m having a hard time deciding if I want to get the timeless. I had it on order from drop but it got delayed and I canceled it. So as a point of reference my favorite IEM is the mangird tea. The reason the timeless was appealing to me is that it has elevated bass and at least from the reviews I’ve seen really good treble and detail. I think the tea has amazing detail but lacks some bass impact. Not sure if it would be worth it for some extra bass since the tea in my opinion is so freaking good. Or I could buy the dusk but who knows I don’t want to side step.
@PrimeAudioReviews
@PrimeAudioReviews 2 жыл бұрын
Sure, it's got more bass than the TEA and you would probably like the tonal balance. Personally, I think it's a sidegrade (at best) from the TEA but there's a good chance you would love it. Since my opinion on this one seems to be so different from everyone else's, I don't want to take as firm a stance as I normally would.

@@Soundoverload They are GREAT. So glad I shelled out the extra cash to get them. I could go on forever about what I like but it would be easier to just watch Michael Bruce’s review. He pretty much nails what I think about them. I’m done with IEM‘s for a while. Maybe in a couple of years whatever the new hotness is will give me the itch but with the variations I don’t feel like I’m lacking for anything.

Oooo, I do not believe I am hearing that! You like the Kato more!!! Kato has tunning that 'fakes' music - it has forwardmess in mids that fakes detailing, it has some strange bass shelf that fakes impact but in fact sounds like either bumping with a fist on the wall or either on an empty metal can, and treble lucks sparkel and rolls off fast. I think you are not using the right tips for Timeless - you should use only the stock orange bore snoked ones or descent foam ones.
@PrimeAudioReviews
@PrimeAudioReviews 2 жыл бұрын
I can't tell if you're trolling or you're actually serious. How could you say KATO fakes impact when TImeless has an even more boosted bass level yet hits like a wet sponge? Have you actually heard both or are you just regurgitating shlt you're read? If you prefer the Timeless then just say so and explain the reasons why...don't just try to discredit everyone else who's opinion differs from yours...
@nikolaygramchev
@nikolaygramchev 2 жыл бұрын
@@PrimeAudioReviews Yes, I have both. Yes, I did A-B testing from Helm Bolt, Hidizs DH800s and TEAC HA-501 and Burson Soloist 3X. And I wrote how I hear the Kato not touching others' comments. So if you 'see' smth in b/n the lines, sorry it is not like this. As you say 'if you prefer the Timeless then just say so and explain', here it is: the Timeless has sound signature that is very close to Blessing 2 Dusk but is more lively - the B2 Dusk is still more refined but it is so refined that can be slightly 'dull', so liveliness vs refinement; the Timeless has more sparkle and extension in the highs than B2 Dusk but it is slightly sibilant in some songs, so more sparkle vs refinement again (sibilance is 99% negated by using foam tips for Timeless); the B2 Dusk has more tight bass but the Timeless has a bit wider soundstage, so bass tightness vs staging. As you see the fair comparison for me is with the B2 Dusk or the P1 (as you did). But not with Kato - already said why.
@nikolaygramchev
@nikolaygramchev 2 жыл бұрын
@@dorisisaway355 Fully agree with you. I was not much satisfied by the Timeless in the beginning and I am still not 100%. It has some flaws which I tried to improve (some come from the package): 1/ it needs more power than usual iems - I know it is funny to use iems with Burson Soloist 3X but I do for exploration since the volume control and scale of precision of the Soloist 3X make all obvious. The Timeless needs power, not so much like the P, but needs it; 2/ I left aside all stock tips and experimented and found out that Lukos foam tips give me deep fit that improves the fit, the bass and negate the sibilance; 3/ I also would prefer a hybrid and a DD for the bass of Timeless but that could be a MK2 (:-). Waiting your next review - I see you enjoy doing these a lot.

@@nikolaygramchev Great reply, my friend👍 Glad to see you here as well. We had interacted earlier at 'Super Reviews' channel. The usp of Timeless is that it has a sound signature like Hifiman Sundara but in portable closed back iem format. Now, not everyone may like that. Planar timbre and tonality are not for everyone. But just as Hifiman Sundara has a lot of admirers, this iem has and will gain a lot of admirers as well.

I ordered a pair of the new T3 Plus for $69 to get my feet wet before I jump for something like the Z1R or the Monarch MKIIs. The 7hz Timeless is like a chameleon... everything I do to it....everything I plug it into it changes... it changes with ear tips, it changes with cable changes.... I put a stock pair on a Topping A90 and let them play Apple Music for 4 days to break them in... I plugged them into a ifi Diablo... it likes the power... I plugged them into a fiio M11Pro and they changed.... then I started to change the cables.... first up was a mixed metal cable from fiio... the sound got deeper and thicker... almost too much but they still didn't bloom out.... then I went for the thinest cable I know of the Linum Super BaX and the Timeless smoothed out and it is as linear from bass to treble as you could possibly get.... then I plugged them into a Smyth Research Realiser A16 and I couldn't stop listening too them... fantastic sounding.... these are a keeper you just need to find out how to interface them with your source and then to your ears... that would be cable rolling and tip rolling, let them burn in and they are again... amazing... they love power... just adjust the volume knob a little at a time and they start to scale up... you will know when you find the sweet spot....

Nice review as always, it just goes to show that ear preference thing, lol. I agree the bass has more quantity but lacks a bit in quality, yet as a whole I really enjoy them, mainly on EDM and I prefer more sub-bass and a more rounded off Mid-bass rather than a good solid hard punch with that style of music, so for me these work wonderful. But I do get what you're saying. As for other music such as vocals/jazz I prefer the Starfield's as the imaging and cleaness/clarity is awesome, even moreso than with the Aria's as it has a warmish tint that fills out all the frequencies, though they are livelier/more fun, that tint seems to cover up the clarity for me some, and the Timeless has just a little bit less(warmish tint) than the Aria's and more than the Starfield's, so I can see where they might sound less lively/cohesive than a better done Arai such as the Kato. >>>But I do get immersed in my music with these!!! But again, I guess it's like flavors and everyone has different likes and dislikes ;)

More specifically, I noticed a good part of my library doesn’t play well on these, like Dire Straits - Knopfler’s voice sounds lean and thin, cymbal strikes sound dry, drums also sound a bit unnatural. But most importantly, it’s the guitars, they don’t have attack and body. But on the other hand, when I hear pop and female vocals, they’re just sublime. So it’s really a hit or a miss based on your musical preference

My choice would be the KATO. There's nothing wrong with the 7Hz but I enjoy my music more when listening with KATO.

I personally would like to get the KATO. So much stuff is constantly coming out that I already have the Kbear Believe and it’s also a single DD. I love the Believe and it was literally within $10 of being the same price as the KATO. A single DD can sound absolutely wonderful and natural compared to hybrid sets that use BAs.

@@jdk_360 I’m heading in the KATO route…easier to drive and single driver seems to work with my library 🍻

Based off of the measurments available there seems to be a unit variance issue. You probably got. A relative lemon

No. Mine is the same as everyone else's. I just don't like it as much.

You're right. The leading edge on drum kicks etc is missing. It's a weird flaw. Personally I couldn't pick what was wrong. You nailed it. The drum intro on Taper Jean Girl by The King's of Leon on the timeless is pathetic. It doesn't sound remotely as it should. Man, the hype train can kiss my ass!

The trick with the Timeless is the fact that you need a very good and powerful source for them. They are cheap but they will not sing even with an average dap. I have the IBasso dx312EXN with almost 1.5 W per channel and im listening to them from balanced, high gain and around 35-45/100 volume. They will play loudly with a decent source or even with a dongle but it doesnt mean that they are scaling well. The bass described here as wooly, doesnt exist on my rig. They are so close to the iBasso IT07 (worth 950e) that i spend most of my time with them. In A/B comparisons, the IT07 are better technically- better detail, very holographic staging, even more pronounced and layered bass but the differences are smaller that someone would think and the Timeless has a great tuning and timbre which makes up for the rest. Their horizontal staging is also great.

The Mangird Tea will give you a more neutral sound with a large soundstage and the best noise isolation. The KATO is also a good option and is engaging but from your description, I think Tea will be great for you.

Interesting, I found the 7hz timeless to be very musical. One of the first times I was actually surprised.

@@PrimeAudioReviews Somehow the planar sound is very unique, I tried them all but the 7hz is something else. The fit is okay the circular thing is kinda annoying.
