one step closer to the hypixel java edition monopoly also i’m assuming they’re going to be creating a separate hosting service rather than connecting the SMP to the main network (unlike skyblock and housing). they’ll probably find some way to sync your friends list and guild chat and everything without having to run through more proxies on the main “hypixel network”.

That's true. The blocks aren't loaded client-side, and only if you break the block next to it, it appears. X-Ray isn't a problem.
